  We’re leaving Mouse tomorrow! I’ll miss this place.

  But we’re taking mail and preparation plans for what to do in big earthquakes to a bunch of little towns, so that’s good. I’ll be talking to mayors again, just not in the tax-checking way.

  I’ll be talking to them with Echo. Luke and Maki will take the mail to the mail building, and Cali will be talking to animals.

  So, Cali leveled up recently, and now she can talk to animals telepathically. I don't know exactly what the range is, but she doesn't need to see them to communicate any more. She- well, at my insistence- asked if she could get paid for this, and after testing her, the Guild agreed to two silver per town.

  Which I found insulting, but since she was planning on doing it anyway she doesn't mind.

  I mean, yeah, it’s nice to get paid any amount for things you’d do anyway. But accepting a stupidly low price for it just sets a precedent for people who wouldn't have done this of their own volition! So they get underpaid!

  Luke understood when I complained about it to him, which was nice. See, I told you he always understands me.

  Anyhow, it looks like we won't be heading into Raddish. I almost want to insist we just… run over and cross the border. Just for a day. Just to say we’ve been there. Hopefully we’ll be sent there at some point in the future.

  Being me, I asked if I’d get any blue in my coloration, and she said either she could give me blue eyes, or make the tips of my ears and tail blue.

  Maybe Echo can help. She doesn't wear particularly cute/sexy things, but I get the impression that’s on purpose. Like she doesn't want people to notice her.

  Maaaaybe I’ll be able to find a good one on my own. But there’s always that fear, y’no, that there’s some fatal flaw I can't see when I put it on, that everyone else can see immediately.

  Well, I am kinda friends with the Goddess now, maybe I can convince her I need to be teleported to Goldvale for like five hours one of these days. We’ll see if I have the guts to ask.
