Hey Diary,
It’s almost midnight, but I’m like over-tired and can’t sleep yet, so I’ll write instead.
We made a trip that should have taken two full days in one day and a handful of hours yesterday. Trusty and True did a good job of hurrying, and will spend tomorrow doing nothing but getting brushed and pampered and fed far too many treats.
It was important we get here tonight because we have instructions on how to make safe rooms for people. All they need is a door, doorway, and a couple runes, and they’ll be able to have a secure place to sleep. Which is very important.
We got here at like ten thirty at night, but the Guild people were waiting for us. They took the box of instructions and ran off to get things started, which I’m happy about. By tomorrow morning they’ll have copied the instructions a thousand times, and other people will rush off to other cities with them.
Since we’re important guests, we got a room at the Guild. They specifically saved one for us, which was very kind, since the Guild here is acting the same as the one in Clover; a whole bunch of homeless people are spending the night in the building.
On our way here, Luke made one of the pocket dimension things using a big metal circle thing. I think it came from a barrel, but I’m not sure. The ring isn’t big enough to walk through; you have to crawl in, but once through, the room is huge. It’s like three times as big as my bedroom back home. The walls and floor give off a soft light, which is a little weird to me. Another odd thing is, it’s shaped like a bubble that landed on the floor. So the floor is flat, but the walls and ceiling are very curved. The walls feel like glass, meaning to hang something on it, you’d have to use tape. Oh, it does need a door, because light and sound come out of it. But only in one direction, not both, which I think is strange.

Overall, I… think it’s ok for an emergency. I don’t know if I’d like it to be my home permanently.
Anyway, the room we were given to sleep in tonight has a bunk bed. I got the top bunk, Maki is sharing the bottom bunk with Echo, and Maeve and Luke are spending the night in their new pocket dimension.
Since the ring emits light, Maki put it on the floor facing down. And then put a blanket over it. I hope they don’t need to use the bathroom or anything, because they’re completely stuck in there until tomorrow morning.
…Which could be another big problem. Yeah, I’d feel safer just sleeping in my flying carpet in the wagon.
But hey, Maeve was thrilled with it. And Echo very much wants one. I’d feel safer if there were two doors, not just one. That way, if one gets put flat on the floor, the other one will still be available.
I wonder, if you could put two doors in one, how far apart could you put the doors? Like, could I have one door in Fish, and then keep the other one with me while traveling? But if I could do that… Then if there were these portals between cities…
I mean, teleportation is a thing, but it’s personal, and there’s a hard limit based on level. If there were two doors that led to the same pocket dimension, and it didn’t matter how far apart they were, it probably wouldn’t be a big deal to make them huge, and be able to transport cargo through them.
I’ll have to bring it up tomorrow. I’m so tired I’m probably thinking crazy things.
Signing off,
