Chapter 93

Ladon City, the capital of Fafnir Kingdom. Inferior Plane.

  “Eh?”

As Coldness Divine descends from the sky at a considerable distance from the city entrance, no guard dares to stop her. A single glance was enough to reveal that she was someone not to be offended.

Such an event causes immediate commotion, all passersby wonder why, even with the flight ban, this woman is allowed to do so. Being of the dragon lineage is no valid excuse, for this is the kingdom of dragons! No one is above the law!

“By the shape of her horns… God, let's get out of here as soon as possible.”

But then, everyone who had been watching her stopped doing so with deep fear in their eyes. The beauty of a dragon lies in their horns, and depending on their shape and size, it is possible to discern certain things. And the horns of Coldness Divine are considered some of the most beautiful without a doubt, and as such, it is impossible for the background of this dragoness to be simple.

It's odd that, even as Coldness Divine enters the capital, only races foreign to the dragon lineage are visible, and there's a logical explanation. Considering the pride and arrogance of the dragons, how is it possible they engage in humble jobs?

From birth, they possess high intellect and combat ability, just a little training is enough to surpass any hunter regardless of their lineage. For them, acquiring fame and fortune is so easy that it's impossible to see any of them selling flowers or sweeping the streets. But at the end of the day, that is a job that someone has to do.

So, the answer was simple, let the inferior races take care of it.

Coldness Divine walks through the streets of the city and then stops at a certain potato vendor's stall. The owner, as well as the customers, aren't surprised by the arrival of a dragon, this is their kingdom, they have the right to do so, but everything changes the moment they see her horns.

They freeze in place, fearing for their lives. That someone like Coldness Divine is in this place means nothing good. The tolerance of the dragons allows mutual coexistence, but like any place, there are always exceptions.

In fear, they watch Coldness Divine approach and then hear multiple thuds on the ground. Once she leaves the place, they dare to see what happened.

“She didn’t take the potatoes, but did she take the sack?”

The potatoes are scattered on the ground, but the sack that held them is nowhere to be found.

“Let me in! I bring an urgent message!”

“Visits are not allowed. You won't be warned a third time, get out now.”

Two knights in golden armor protect a huge door, but the most surprising thing isn't that, they are dragons. Considering the pride and disdain of their race, what they must be protecting behind those doors must be important enough for them to take pride in doing so.

In front of them, a dragon in noble attire resigns to surrender.

“You wouldn't understand! Our lives will be in danger if--”

  “Enough.”

  “Eh?”

The knight unsheathes his sword and with a single move of his hand, he slices the dragon in two, who insists on interrupting the peace they were entrusted to guard.

“Are you sure what you've done? This offense wasn't enough to kill him.”

“It's okay, he was one of those whom her majesty wanted to get rid of. All those who know her past have been--”

The dragon knight stops his words upon hearing steps approaching.

“Who's there?! Her majesty is resting! She will not attend to trivial matters!”

Meanwhile, behind the large doors that both knights guard, there is a beautiful woman with her eyes closed, resting peacefully on a majestic throne. This is the throne room and she is the queen, Scarlet Ossuary.

She is a beautiful woman, possessing all the qualities that would satisfy any race observing her. With a delicate and elegant face, long reddish hair that constantly emits embers, and an exquisite figure, molded by the gods themselves. Indeed, in her presence, the eyes would doubt whether they are really in the presence of a goddess.

  Bang!

A loud noise from the corridor interrupts her peaceful rest. She opens her eyes and then frowns.

“Who dares cause a commotion before this queen?”

Her casual words echo in the throne room, but they do not stop there. They pass through the walls, damaging all the servants who were unfortunate enough to be there at the wrong time.

For an instant there is an abysmal silence in the castle, but the next a blast sends the majestic doors flying into the throne room along with the mutilated corpses of the two knights protecting them.

“You've become bold since my departure, Ossuary.”

  “Ah… Ah…”

Queen Scarlet Ossuary, considered a goddess by many, now trembles in terror at the arrival of a woman.

  “S- S- Sister.”

A chill runs down the queen’s body, all strength and confidence disappearing within her, her body instinctively reacts to the presence of her sister!

“Is this the way to receive me?”

To the words of that woman, the queen gets up from her throne and quickly runs towards her sister. She stops just a meter from her and then proceeds to prostrate on the ground.

“I- It's good to know that elder sister Coldness Divine has returned in glory and majesty from the Divine Plane. I have prayed every day for your well-being, I have not forgotten the fortune of being born of the same bloodline.”

The queen of the Fafnir Kingdom, who is loved and feared by many, the pinnacle of the dragon kingdom, trembles uncontrollably knowing that Coldness Divine is still alive and not only that, she has returned! And that she still remembers her!

“What are you talking about Scarlet Ossuary? Weren’t you the elder sister?”

Coldness Divine holds the silky hair of her elder sister and then pulls it upwards, lifting her body to the same level as hers. On the queen's face, more than pain, only fear resides.

  “I- I'm sorry sister. I- I made a mistake.”

“Is that so? Then how do you explain that one of the men who swore loyalty to me is lying there on the floor?”

Holding her by the hair, Coldness Divine directs her elder sister’s face towards the corpse at the entrance. A man of dragon lineage and in noble attire lies there, his body divided in two.

Scarlet Ossuary begins to tremble once again as she predicts what will happen next.

  “Where are the others?”

  “A- Ah… Ah…”

After understanding that her elder sister will not respond due to fear, Coldness Divine walks, pulling her along by the hair. The proud queen of the Fafnir Kingdom is dragged across the floor by her own younger sister, the woman she both hates and fears.

  “A- Ah… N- No, d- don’t look at me.”

Her body is dragged through the castle halls, each servant they cross covers their mouth in horror, unconsciously retreating for fear of being the next.

“Intruder! How dare you lay a finger on our queen! Kill her!”

Knights in golden armor arrive to defend their queen, but not even a second passes before they all die without leaving a corpse. Only traces of blood adorn the halls and the queen, Scarlet Ossuary, is dragged through them. Her beautiful dress quickly turns red.

“You cleaned the castle thoroughly, eh, Scarlet Ossuary. But it's still not enough, the roots of this kingdom are intrinsically tied to me. I'll make everything as it was before, you'll go back to being who you were, elder sister.”

  “Ah… A- Ah, N- No… No…”

The beautiful queen, in terror, wanted to cut her hair to free herself from the clutches of Coldness Divine, to cut off the heads of all the servants and knights who watched her suffer such humiliation without opposing her younger sister, but she couldn't do it, she just couldn't!

The fear of what would happen if she did was much greater!

Her mind collapses to the point of thinking that these hellish minutes are just a nightmare, that Coldness Divine is still in the Divine Plane and that she simply cannot wake up from this realistic dream.

Coldness Divine throws her elder sister away, and she rolls on the ground before coming back to her senses.

  “Sacred land?”

Without knowing when, they had arrived at the secret garden of the castle, the Sacred land. A place revered as sacred because it holds a very important fact for the dragon lineage. In this place, which has nothing but golden sand, millions of years ago a dragon cried.

Not just any dragon. An ancient dragon, which has no emotions, cried in this place.

Only the archetypal dragons, who possess human emotions, can cry. But an ancient dragon, whose lifespan is millennial, even in front of its children possesses no emotion. How is it possible that such a being felt sadness? How is it possible that its tears have modified the terrain making it special only for dragons?

For any other race this place is nothing more than a small desert, but for the dragons, this place is a sacred land. The only place where they feel their blood boil.

  Coldness Divine says indifferently: “Dig.”

  “Eh?”

“I'll give it as a gift to someone special, now dig.”

  “Y- Yes, sister.”

The mind of Scarlet Ossuary is so confused, she couldn't think clearly, she couldn't believe that, the same Coldness Divine she knows, has someone who could be considered special. Her only thoughts concentrate on searching for some item in her storage ring to help her scoop up a portion of the sand and hand it to her younger sister.

  “What are you doing?”

Her attempts only cause her sister's annoyance. Scarlet Ossuary wanted to ask what she had done wrong so she could correct it, but then a sack of potatoes is thrown at her side.

  “Dig with your own hands.”

Queen Scarlet Ossuary looks at this humble item and clenches her fists and teeth. The hatred, fury, and humiliation swirl inside her. If it had been before her departure, then she might have been able to endure this humiliation, but after enjoying years of peace and solemnity, she can no longer.

The pain is much greater than before.

  “Do it.”

Her body unconsciously trembles as she hears the strong voice of her younger sister.

“Y- Yes, sister. I will do it.”

The proud, arrogant, and majestic queen uses her delicate hands to dig in the sand and toss the results of her labor into the humble sack of potatoes. She bites her lips as she sees the grains of sand slip through her fingers making this task difficult. It hurts her to see her nails breaking and blood emerging through them, she is a queen! Why? Why does this have to happen to her?

“Our brothers would cry with happiness to see you like this now.”

Coldness Divine smiles, but her smile does not reflect happiness.

“How did it feel to kill them?”
