B2 | Chapter 66

  Ashley

I feel the injuries I got from the clash gradually healing as I move away from the spot where the two attacks clashed. All while still unable to see.

As for when the bright light around me begins to clear? I finally find the Unique Monster entering my sight again.

With the tiger looking worse for wear himself.

But unlike me, it doesn’t look like the tiger can regenerate all that well.

  Not without snow, that is.

It looks like it can heal itself using snow. Even with snow the monster itself creates.

  But not very quickly.

Despite being able to heal, the tiger itself is now the size of a regular tiger. And it’s covered in injuries with entire patches of its fur missing. Leaving bald spots in the fur’s absence.

Albeit bald spots with different types of wounds on them. All from the varying energies in those jewels.

There are some spots filled with dead flesh from the death jewel, spots with random missing flesh from the void, and even spots with mutations from chaos. Amongst many others.

But as the tiger draws snow in from our surroundings into its body, those injuries veeeeery slowly begin to heal.

I focus on the tiger’s gaze. Which clearly shows the tiger’s anger directed at me.

The most important thing about this clash though isn’t those wounds on the tiger’s body.

It’s the fact that the tiger has shrunk down to normal size and has actual bald spots. Meaning it’s largely run out of snow in its body.

And the remaining snow that it has, it’s clearly using to heal itself.

Maybe that means the thing won’t be able to use its true damage skill anymore?

Since it doesn’t have any fur left.

“I wouldn’t be so sure about that,” Chaos suddenly says, making me blink before I narrow my eyes. “If I help you too much right away, the little feline might not admit defeat even if you kill his clone. But I can say this much at least.”

So you’re saying it can still use its true damage skill even without its fur?

“Yes,” Chaos answers. “Its true damage skill isn’t its fur.”

  Then…

My thoughts go back to the energy that was inside of its fur before shooting out to form that ball. The one that was part of the Unique Monster’s breath attack.

Was that energy the real true damage skill all along? Not the fur?

As if answering my thoughts, the tiger’s eyes narrow before a glowing pale blue energy begins to leak out of the monster’s body. Forming snow all around the creature with that glowing pale blue light.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

Then that very light begins to dim as the snow increases in mass and begins to form a little blizzard around the tiger. One that gradually grows larger and larger in size.

Covering up the entire tiger’s form with the only sign of its presence within the blizzard being two glowing eyes shining from within the blizzard.

  Damnit.

It was controlling its fur with that energy, wasn’t it?

“Your hypothesis is correct,” Chaos answers, sounding oddly proud.

I use my Gaze of Destruction on the blizzard around the tiger before quickly finding the snow getting destroyed at a much faster pace than the fur. With the snow showing crimson cracks and vanishing wherever my eyes pass.

Unlike with the fur, where it was only destroyed after a brief time looking at the fur.

Is its fur like a catalyst? Something to enhance its true damage skill?

Chaos answers in the positive before the monster lets out a roar – one much quieter than its past roars thanks to its now size – and sends the blizzard my way. Covering me in an instant with the frigid snow.

And unlike the fur, the blizzard begins to slowly freeze over my entire body instead of one spot.

Since the snow seems easier to deal with than the fur, I go ahead and try melting it with fire and magma magic. And even some destruction magic added in.

And to my surprise, it actually works.

  Albeit slowly.

  And not very efficiently.

So I stop doing that to instead focus on making a barrier of destruction, fire, and magma magic around my body. Just to protect myself as I move around the blizzard in search of the tiger.

But not long after I begin to move through the snow, I feel a sudden chill run down my spine that makes me flap my wings to move forwards. Following which I feel a flash of pain from my shoulder and part of one of my wings that has me grunting in pain.

I glance backwards to find a large chunk having been ripped out of both my shoulder and wing as two glowing eyes move further away from me in the snow.

This tiger… he’s like a wraith in the snow or something.

  That said…

The corners of my lips quirk upwards as I hear what sounds like pained growling and hissing filling the blizzard.

No doubt because the tiger just bit off some of my wing. Which is filled with Chaos’ poisonous blood.

So I try to take advantage of this as I move around the snow hunting for the tiger. Just creating a path with my eyes alone.

But after a while, I notice something wrong.

  Very, very wrong.

My wounds have frozen over. At least on my shoulder.

  And the wound isn’t healing.

  Shit.

The tiger must have some sort of venom.

I grit my teeth while continuing to push through the snow, only to catch a brief glimpse of the tiger when my Gaze clears the snow in my line of sight. Showing me the tiger with a fleshy mutation on its lips and inside of its mouth, along with more spread across its body. But not a lot more.

Then, a split second after catching sight of the Unique Monster, the tiger rushes straight at me. Leaving me moving my wings in front of me to protect myself from the tiger.

And just like before, the tiger bites into my wings. Only for the tiger to try spitting it out right away.

But since my wings’ blood acts through contact alone, it still begins to mutate the tiger’s mouth a bit again.

The tiger lets out another loud and angry hiss while fading into the snow again. Meanwhile I’m left slowly healing the second missing chunk on my wings.

After that, the tiger tries three more times to attack me with his fangs, but every time I manage to take the injury with my wings. Damaging the tiger further along with my wings.

Of course, I try to block the tiger with my barriers, but the tiger just shatters any barrier I put up with ease. Even my stronger defensive skills, like the Cocoon of Destruction.

  It just shatters with ease.

Proving just how powerful the tiger is.

A lot more powerful than me despite us both technically being considered Unique Beings.

I guess just because I took the skills of a Unique Being and became one through that, that doesn’t entirely mean I’m a genuine Unique Being …

  But…

My eyes narrow as I see the tiger prowling around me through the blizzard.

  Well, shit.

This drains my energy a lot more than any of my magic or other skills do, but at this point, I don’t have much of a choice.

So with that in mind, I activate my Form of Chaos skill.

Transforming into my second form. The stronger one that is a mish-mash of all my many skills and Skill Trees.

And just like usual, I feel an excruciating pain spreading all across my body from the transformation that lasts only for a short moment. Then I let out a loud roar as I turn into a hybrid of numerous different creatures.

All with the King of Destruction being the base of them.

The tiger pauses in its prowling before narrowing its glowing eyes amidst the blizzard.

Let’s finish this as quickly as possible.

Before I run out of energy.
