B2 | Chapter 62

  Ashley

Alright, so this Domain is pretty much the same as a Unique Domain in a sense. Strictly in that it is largely affected by the Unique Monster inside of it.

But it is more and more affected by the Unique Monster the longer it’s been open.

I take in a deep breath before letting it out again. Then I begin to focus more on my surroundings.

Only for another notification to appear in my vision.

I feel my eyebrow twitch in irritation at the notification. Since it means I’ll be broadcast again from this point on.

Damnit, I was getting used to not being broadcast anymore. Outside of the boss battles, of course.

  Well, whatever.

While it has been years inside of the System Tower since I entered it, it’s only been months outside of it. All thanks to the time dilution added to the tower by Chronos.

But despite that, I can’t help but feel curious about catching up with Blake through the messages.

Assuming he’s in a place he can talk right now.

I quickly go to check in the menus, only to find it rejecting my message.

  Well, so much for that.

I let out a sigh again. Following which I hear Chaos’ voice echo in my head, “He’s fine, don’t you worry. In fact, he’s in the ninth Domain of the System Tower. But he hasn’t cleared every Domain perfectly like you, and he’s currently missing the mark to get the true boss.”

Honestly, I’m glad to hear that.

Because I don’t want him fighting a Unique Monster. Even if it’s just a clone.

It’s still just as strong as he was at this level, so he’s still a Unique Monster at the end of the day.

Although I’m guessing there will be items in the tower that will help weaken him by quite a bit. Just like all the other Unique Domains have.

“You’re correct about that,” Chaos says as I begin looking around the Domain at the chaotic environment and monsters. “And you’ve already got nine of them.”

That gives me pause for just a split second before the answer comes to me and I look down at my wrist. Where all of the Jewels have appeared on a single bracelet.

This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version.

One that I noticed appeared on my arm at some point.

I honestly don’t even remember when it appeared. It just did.

And it makes some sense that they would be the thing needed to take down the Unique Monster.

The only thing I’m not sure of is what exactly to do with it.

“Every jewel holds an immense amount of energy and can be used as a bomb to attack the little cub,” Chaos continues without hesitation. “On top of that, there are also things in the Chaos Domain that can be used against him. All to make up for the power gap between the two of you.”

  That’s good at least.

“Also keep in mind that the Domain will change when you get closer to the cub,” Chaos says as I begin using destruction spells to attack some of the monsters around me. Only to find them to be quite a bit stronger than the ones from the previous Domains. “It will grow very cold.”

Right. The humanoid tiger guy is also known as the Tiger of Eternal Snow.

While I fight the monsters near me, my thoughts can’t help but stray towards the tiger’s beast form. Which Chaos mentioned it has.

A form that is quadrupedal in form and pretty much just a massive tiger.

Will it be as fluffy as my stuffed tiger?

I hear Chaos chuckle, no doubt hearing my thoughts again. But I ignore him this time.

Albeit with a slight blush on my face.

Maybe after I beat him I should ask if I can pet his fur…

“No need to ask him,” Chaos says while still chuckling. “If you want, I’ll just drag him to you and make him sit while you pet his fur all you want.”

I’d feel awkward petting a humanoid tiger, regardless of the presence of fur. Plus that doesn’t sound consensual.

“I can just force him into his beast form then,” Chaos says without even bothering to respond to my part about consent.

Then again, from what I’ve heard about the Unique Monster, he pretty much treats Chaos as a god. So he’d probably do it without having to be forced.

  Anyway, that’s a no.

“You won’t need him if you get his Skill Tree, so don’t worry about it,” Chaos adds, making me frown as I tear apart more of the monsters here with my bare hands enhanced with magic. “He has a familiar skill near the beginning of his Skill Tree. One that’s just as fluffy as him.”

  My eyes narrow at that.

I have to get that Skill Tree.

Chaos chuckles in my mind again, but I ignore him to focus on attacking the monsters.

On another note, this Unique Monster battle will be a lot safer for me than the last one. Since I’ll be able to leave the System Tower without killing the Unique Monster this time.

As long as I clear one of the objectives, then I’m good to leave whenever I want.

And one of the objectives is literally just to survive for three days here.

So I’m at least safe in that department.

And to top that off, I get one revive in the System Tower.

A revival that I still haven’t used yet.

I can’t help but grin at that thought. Since it’ll be incredibly useful when fighting the tiger.

Even if I have to sacrifice that extra life, I will do it.

All for that Unique Skill Tree.

  And for the fluff.

But mostly the Unique Skill Tree.

With all that in mind, I continue killing the monsters nonstop. Spending an entire day doing nothing but fighting.

Until something unusual finally happens the moment the countdown in the corner of my vision reaches one day on the dot since I entered the Chaos Domain.

At which point it begins to snow.

The snow isn’t very heavy at all. In fact, it’s very light and isn’t even sticking to the ground it’s so little in volume.

  But it’s snowing.

And I think the temperature is starting to drop.

I guess the Unique Monster is starting to-

My thoughts are interrupted when I hear a loud roar echoing throughout the Chaos Domain. One that makes the snow falling to the ground tremble and quake.

Then it starts to snow a little harder, and the temperature drops even further.

Of course, the cold isn’t actually enough to bother me. Not nearly enough. Both because of my natural cold resistance, which I’m guessing is from Chaos’s blood, and from my various cold resistances.

But it is dropping. And if it repeatedly drops like that, it doesn’t really bode well for the future.

So I continue slaughtering the monsters while moving through the Chaos Domain. Searching bit by bit for the Jewel of Chaos.

All while hoping against hope that I find it, and whatever other thing I can use against the Unique Boss, before I find the Unique Boss.

Before long though, I hear the tiger’s roar again. At which point the temperature drops more and the snow grows a little heavier.

I guess that’ll happen every time he roars…

That thought makes me grit my teeth, but I continue moving, nonetheless. With the tiger roaring every so often as I go.

Probably about once every twelve or so hours.

  For thirty-six hours, that is.

Once the third day in the Chaos Domain finally begins, the roars change to once every hour. At which point the snow is heavy enough that everything is now covered in a thin layer of snow.

So much that I can’t see the ground anymore.

  Anywhere.

Which is weird since the snow is also sticking and falling onto the roofs and undersides of objects.

I frown at the sight before continuing my journey.

Please let me find something to help in my fight soon…
