Everything was calm, except for one corner of the soul where a tidal wave of emotions had struck.
Yu Sui spoke to Mo Yan in a soft, tender tone:
"Mo Yan. There are some unfinished tasks that I must complete."
Saying this, he looked into Mo Yan's eyes and smiled. His eyes were smiling even more than his lips expressing things that words could not say. Mo Yan nodded in agreement and gave a light smile. His eyes, too, read the unspoken words and emotions within Yu Sui’s gaze.
A little later, Wuzu reappeared, but this time she was accompanied by three of her disciples. Like her, they were terrifying spirits. All three were clad in identical red robes. Wuzu glanced at them, and they instantly understood their task. The three went and took their positions, standing silently behind Mo Yan.
Yu Sui gave Mo Yan one last faint smile and began to walk away, with Wuzu following closely behind. Mo Yan stood still, watching them depart. But his eyes were still burning with intensity. Looking at Wuzu's retreating figure, he silently returned to Yu Sui's chamber and sat by the low table. There stood a small incense burner, surrounded by several of Yu Sui's personal belongings.
Mo Yan, once a warrior of unmatched grace, now sat in solitude like a shadow forged in fire. The room was so silent that even a minor movement would have echoed loudly. But Mo Yan’s eyes were now much calmer than before. When he eventually stepped out, the three disciples were still there, and as soon as Mo Yan moved, they followed him like shadows.
Elsewhere... far away from the scorched earth...
Yu Sui and Wuzu were walking together. Stepping over the dry grass of the quiet plains, they advanced toward an inn that looked like a broken structure from afar. Broken doors, shattered windows, scattered wood, and ruined belongings lay everywhere.

In a suffocating room within those ruins, a man sat cross-legged in utter despair. His hair was disheveled, his clothes torn, and his feet were bound in chains. The walls of the room were plastered with thousands of talismans scraps of paper everywhere. The man’s hands were shaking like the earth during an earthquake. His eyes were wide, as if he were vigilantly watching every corner of the room.
A bowl of holy river water sat before him, and he was constantly splashing it around, whispering in a trembling voice:
"Stay away. Don't come near. Stay away, Devil! Stay away from me! Don't come near!"
Suddenly, at the broken door where the wind whistled through, a sharp gust blew, and a first step was taken into the room. At that single step, the man’s throat went dry. His limbs began to shake violently. In his trembling hands, the water bowl fell, and the water spilled, slowly flowing toward the feet of the person standing at the door.
That person was none other than Yu Sui. His glowing golden pupils were like stars twinkling in the distance. A crooked smile played on his lips, revealing his dark intentions to anyone who looked. He stepped forward toward the man, who was scurrying backward in fear.
Yu Sui spoke in a heavy, bone-chilling voice:
"Lin Chaoyuan! Lin Chaoyuan! How do you like it? BLACK HEAVEN!!! Huh!!!! Or should I say...!!"
He leaned down to the man's ear and whispered:
"...BLACK HEAVEN KING!!"
Lin Chaoyuan scrambled back in haste. His limbs turned cold, and his lips paled to a ghostly white. He stuttered, his voice barely audible:
"You... Devil! Stay away from me, or I will burn you! Stay away!"
Upon hearing this, a red mist formed in the air, and Wuzu emerged from it. Her voice and eyes were like those of a fairy turned demonic, flaunting her dark grace. She said:
"My Master. How long are you going to keep this trash? I actually feel pity for him even in this state, he thinks he can kill you. My Master, just give me the word once, and I will turn him into a feast for the entire Black Heaven. What do you say, my Master?"
Yu Sui smiled. He folded his hands behind his back and stood in a completely relaxed posture. Looking at Lin Chaoyuan, he said:
"There is someone else to kill him. We have no need to dirty our hands with his blood."
Wuzu's eyes began to smile. She too folded her arms and stood there, watching Lin Chaoyuan like a predator eyeing its prey.
