Aven, 1st rank cavalry commander of the Elfine Brigadiers, finds himself ambushed and on the verge of death. His stubborn stallion, Archibald, refuses to leave him, preferring to enter the next life together. With one final charge, Aven finds himself in modern day Tracen Academy, and finds himself to be a maiden called a "umamusume." Now she is insistent on finding the reincarnation of Archibald, while trying to keep up appearances in a world of technology and conveniences far beyond the medieval fantasy world she used to inhabit.
