I started out the day a long time before sunrise, gently sneaking out from underneath Rex, to move over and cast my series of Unseen Crafters, to continue working on my future armor, along with the Animated Tools sets set up to make more boxes and continue working on the Alchemical process that I have going on. I quickly set about dealing with the enchantment for the next Field Provision Box to be donated to the Shelter. With it done, and the sun barely cresting over the horizon, I decided to text Bob that the firearms were done and ready to be picked up. With that out of the way, I decided to get a few more cans of cat food not only for that cat that I had met yesterday, but any more that I come across. I left the storage unit while Rex went out to go on his diving/fishing excursion.
While I was out getting cat food cans and getting a couple of other small things, like drinks and whatnot, Bob texted back to me that he would drop by around noon. I responded that I would be there and that I’d have everything ready. I quickly headed back to the storage unit and grabbed up the new Field Provision Box and my person one. I rode directly to the Shelter and got everything ready to deliver to the worker there. The worker was almost waiting for me, smiling, as I brought in another box for them to add to their stores.
The worker told me that the people who tried the food yesterday all said that they were satisfied with it. I told them that I had never had a problem with it, but that I was glad that it was good for the other people. The worker told me that the parents with children especially liked the fact that the kids all had good, healthy food, but didn’t have the taste of those healthy foods. I dropped off the twelve extra sets of food from my personal FBP, and gave them the new box with the new command words. I apologized that I had to leave to get back to my job, and told the worker that I would be trying to get the next one made as soon as I could.
The worker thanked me again, and said that they were glad that I was looking to help like I was. I told them that I would keep looking for other ways that I could help out like this as I left. I waved as I left, and then headed back to the storage unit to be ready for Bob to drop by. Rex was not back so I was alone at the storage unit, watching my armor slowly put itself together and my alchemical pots slowly stirring on their own. I started going over all of the various tools that I could and cast my Animate Tools cantrip on everything that I could, and Prestidigitation on everything else while I waited, even though the tent automatically fixed those issues.
When Bob arrived, I had all of the rifles cleaned as well as the case. Everything was in tip top condition, and ready to go. Bob took a look at them and closed the cases, saying that he was fairly certain that there would be more projects for this going forward, probably every month at the least. I thanked him and politely asked him to please continue with the deal where he sends the remainder to be deposited and just provide me with a pallet of salt for each. Bob readily agreed, and offered up that we could get lunch, after two. I thanked him and told him that I would take him up on that offer and he headed off to his office while I decided to use my bedroll to catch a nap, and regain my spellcasting ability.

I woke up at around one-thirty, and quickly meditated to regain my spell capability, and then texted Bob to find the location of the lunch. Bob told me that I should just head to the shop, to my surprise. I told him that I would be there around two. I didn’t have time to really cast the series of spells, and make it there, so I headed there immediately. I had my gear with me, and had just figured that I would just do a patrol after. I made my way there, and Bob and the rest of the staff were already there.
Steve, Doug, and Jessica were all already in the breakroom, and there was a decent spread of food. I thanked them for wishing me well, and inviting me to have lunch with them. Steve spoke up and admitted that they had realized that it wasn’t me that had brought the gang to try to rob the place, and after seeing me work with Captain America, they were more than glad to have me working with them. I thanked them for being so candid and for being willing to have me work here. Bob spoke up and said that while he’d be happy to have me work with everyone here, he was certain that I would prefer to work at my secret base, but also said that I shouldn’t feel bad about visiting.
I thanked everyone for making me feel more invited and more comfortable and told them that I really was making a lot of progress with orders now and I can work on them whenever. I added that I would be making an item to help them out, with the cleaning that I was previously doing, when I have the chance. Steve perked up at that and said that it would make his job a little easier. I told him that it was the least I could do since they welcomed me as much as they had done. I offered up to Steve and Jessica that I’d figure out some special things to help out their tasks too, once I figured something else.

I told Bob that once he got everything installed, or when the building would be closed down for a day that he’d be comfortable with me being here, I can set up the safety areas. Bob said that there had been a hitch with the installation for the two pull down areas, but that he’d keep me updated. I added that he also needed to get a manikin with body armor setup on it to act as the anchor for the guardian alarm enhancement. Bob said that he’d work on getting all of the things that were needed. I nodded and that was when I got a text from Jonathan, saying that he hated to interrupt my lunch, but that Verdigris was needed.
Setting aside that he knew where I was without me telling him, I let Bob know that something had just come up, and that I would have to leave for the day, but that he can let me know whenever it would be good to drop by, or when he had another order for me to fulfill. I wished everyone goodbye and quickly changed into my “work clothes”, and got on my bike and called him to find out where I was needed. He quickly answered and told me that there was a super strong guy who had been working with the Warlocks who was attacking the Norfolk Sheriff’s office to break his fellow criminals out of the Norfolk City Jail. Jonathan sent me a set of directions to follow to get there, and I rushed fairly fastly to get there before anyone would get too hurt for me to help. I asked him how much of a superhuman this was, and he told me that he had apparently attempted to use more of the steroids that he had gotten before, and now was an eight foot tall monstrosity.
While I was getting closer, I listened as he told me that he had also apparently dipped into the Warlock’s drug stash, and was “methed-out”, as well. I sighed, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to talk him down. I was going as fast as this bike would take me, and got there in just two minutes. As soon as I got there I cast Haste and Displacement, to try to make sure that I wouldn’t get hit. I rushed into the building, through the massive hole that had been made in the front that had been made by the rampaging villain.
While I rushed my way through the building, I saw several police officers that appeared to be injured or knocked out. I was still under the effects of the Haste spell, so I spared a few seconds to cast Cure Light Wounds on the ones that looked to be in the worst condition while still alive, on my way to confront the cause of this chaos and tragedy. I only had about eighteen seconds left of my Haste spell when I found the cause, the misshapen lout that had been the origin of this violence. I yelled at him to get his attention while I quickly fired off three rounds. As the rounds hit, I noticed that they were NOWHERE near as effective as they should have been, his hide blocking the wounds and the fire as well.
Now the beast’s attention was directed solely at me, dropping a police officer and lunging at me with a makeshift maul, swinging twice at me, missing on the first strike, but hitting me even through the Displacement. It knocked me back ten feet as I managed to not fall on my ass. I fired off another three rounds with minimal effect, the lightning and sonic effects slowly wearing the individual down. Unfortunately, it wasn’t fast enough, as he bounded over to me and struck me again, nearly shattering ribs. I backed up a bit more again, knowing that I could probably only take one more hit, fired everything I could as my Haste spell was ending.
With my last hit, the thing took two steps towards me, before collapsing unconscious. I wheezed in pain as I looked for any people that I could help, as I figured that I could deal with my wounds later. I managed to get three more police officers saved, managing to not have any of them die, before I turned back to the criminal. I used my Prestidigitation to collect up the cartridges for my bullets, and the projectiles that were lodged into the outer layers of the thing’s flesh. I didn’t have any manacles that would fit this lump of flesh, so I video-called Jonathan to tell him that this miscreant had been knocked out, but I had no way to contain him.
While I was on the phone, the backup squad from another precinct made their way in, yelling at me to put my hands up. I did so while setting my phone facing towards them, with Jonathan on the screen on video call. The lead police officer stepped forward and took the phone from me while the others held me at gunpoint. There was a brief conversation where Jonathan explained that I was a S.H.I.E.L.D. asset that had been called in to help with the superhuman assaulting the jailhouse. The lead cop handed my phone back to me and asked me what the current circumstance was, and I told him that the criminal was currently unconscious, and would probably stay like that for about a day.
I apologized that I didn’t have anything to contain the criminal and the police officer said that Jonathan had told him that they would send something to help keep the criminal contained. I asked if it would be okay for me to leave, so I could go deal with my wounds. The lead cop let me go, telling me that if they needed to get in touch with me, they would let me know through Jonathan. I agreed and told them that I was sorry that I couldn’t get here earlier to prevent more damage. I winced and made my way out of the room, but one of the backup cops stopped me, telling me thank you.
I nodded and told him that I was happy to help, and that if they run into a situation like this in the future, they shouldn’t hesitate to contact S.H.I.E.L.D. to get me there. They nodded and I made my way back out to my bike, burning charges from my belt to heal. Even after three individual uses of my belt, I wasn’t fully back to normal, but with resting tonight, I figured that I should be back to good. I made my way back towards the Storage Unit shelter secretly, and immediately cast a bunch of Unseen Crafters to get my new set of armor ready sooner, knowing what this super strong individual did to me. I decided to spend the rest of the day focusing on the Ley Lines here, to get ready to attach myself to it, to try to wring out just a little bit more power, because, when I focused my eyes on the mystical energies, they were a blazing Orange.
