Stocking stuffer 1- Reborn as the titan Hyperion, but I look like a giant of light?

Hyperion had been hit by a falling light signal after recently arriving in new york city, before being reincarnated as Hyperion, the titan of light.

This alone would not have been a bad thing overall.

Titan of light, his future was practically secure. No need to cultivate and fight his way to the top or establish his pantheon.

He was an eternal being, guaranteed a stable life, as long as he didn't offend the future godkings or compete for the throne.

  Easy!

However, he encountered a rather large problem at first.

Why does our son look like this! Came the booming voice of Ouranos, a voice laden with disgust.

Hyperion was born looking like an ultraman from the japanese show ultraman.

Like a red trigger to be precise.

In any other case, this wouldn't have been a bad thing.

He thought he looked cool at least.

But his father was Ouranos. Mr. throwaway the ugly ones.

And for a moment, he was that ugly one.

In the early greek world of beauty, he stood out like a sore thumb.

Being stared at like that filled him with dread, wondering if he'd be the first child in this world to be imprisoned in Tartarus.

Luckily for him, mere seconds after his birth, like a divine miracle, the cyclops and hechatonchires were born.

Lucky for him. Unfortunate for them as they were promptly stuffed into Tartarus, much to Gaea's anguish.

After that, His father's gaze towards him softened considerably. He was merely unconventional, and not ugly like his brothers.

Actually, the cyclops' were not that ugly. Besides the one eye, they looked quite handsome. It's just that compared to the literal greek gods around them, they were ugly. As for the 100 handed ones, while weird, weren't that horrifying. Not deserving of their fate.

When the time came for Ouranos to fall, Hyperion, while certainly not the first to stand up, was definitely the most excited to debone the old king.

Hyperion had not forgotten how his father had stared at him and was well aware he was one bad day away from Ouranos sending him to join his unfortunate brothers.

When it came time to free his brothers and Cronos refused, Hyperion made no comment, despite Gaea's grieving look.

He was helpless. Did Hyperion not want to help his brothers? Of course he did. Unlike the current titans, his soul came from the modern age, one with certain values. Unlike the others who feared their power, Hyperion merely saw his brothers as unfortunate victims to their appearance, similar to him.

  They were his brothers.

But Hyperion was patient. He knew the way of things, and that eventually, the 6 brothers would be freed by Zeus to join him in his rebellion.

No point in fighting over it.

After Kronos' rise to power, Hyperion chose to isolate himself on a small world he made for himself, a blazing "land of light" which he named appropriately so.

He was an ultraman after all, in appearance only, but he thought it would be right for him to live there.

Hyperion had his own considerations. Knowing that Kronos was destined to fall, he decided that the less contact he had with him, the better, lest Kronos drag him into the Titanomachy and really screw his pooch. As a firsthand witness to their unfortunate fate, Hyperion had resolved to never follow Kronos and end up following him into tartarus.

His second reason was to avoid Kronos' edge.

Kronos was known for his courage, for being the first to step forward and fight back against their tyrannical father's rule, but he was also an age-old example of the hero killing the dragon before becoming it.

And he, Hyperion, stood out too much.

Unlike his brothers, Hyperion's natural form was 55 meters tall and strong. In the midst of Ouranos' struggle to break free, he was the one who exerted the least effort.

He did have ultraman powers too. Most of them didn't stand out amongst the titans of course, but his specium ray still evoked fear from his siblings, paired with his alien appearance.

The titan of light eventually became capable of changing into his human shape, but found it uncomfortable, but not unbearable.

If he thought it would help, then he would've used it.

Unfortunately, they were there when he was born, and thus watched as he was born, seeing his alien-like appearance and great power.

If he tried hiding it now, Kronos, the paranoid one may easily get the wrong idea.

Unfortunately, some things are simply destined.

He knew when Hestia was born, because that was the day his authority was sapped.

They the gods and titans were condensations of authority. Avatars. Whenever they gave birth to a child, the child would either generate new laws or take parts of others. Usually, in such cases, the child is born without authority, and parents with affection, willingly fragment their authority and share it with their children.

Hyperion's own 3 children were an example of the former, creating the laws of the sun, moon, and Dawn respectively, adding them to this budding nascent universe.

Metis was an example of the latter, being a titan of wisdom, taking a little from him, the titan of light and wisdom.

Oceanus personally approached him for that, apologizing for the transgression, and Hyperion forgave him.

Unlike other titans, Oceanus was rather friendly to him, and he knew it was an accident, with Metis' pure wisdom causing the authority of wisdom to fragment into two. She was the one who would lead Zeus to victory after all.

But the loss of Hestia's authority cut his power by a full 30 percent. Hestia was the hearth yes, but she was also the light of civilization.

In a weird way, by becoming ultraman, his authorities had shifted.

Not just purely light and wisdom, his authorities became light, wisdom and hope.

Light no longer purely referred to light, but also the metaphorical light that ultraman so praised, the light of civilization, the light of hope, these concepts had been absorbed into his authority as light.

And accordingly, the birth of Hestia cut into this authority, his core authority.

He didn't react much, but the next birth certainly made a stir.

Demeter's authority directly undercut Gaea's, causing her to roar in fury once she sensed what Kronos had done.

The mother Goddess shook the heavens with her wrath, but it was a helpless rage.

In this world, the God king was strongest. Even if she was mad at Kronos for undermining her authority, there was nothing she could do about it.

He wasn't just purposefully using his children to undercut the other titans, but he swallowed them too, not only a horrible act condemned by all, but also absorbed their authorities in an attempt to strengthen his own.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

Kronos was cowardly. Scared. Fearful of the curse his father had uttered, fearful of his mother lashing out for not freeing his uglier brethren, fearful of his brothers and sisters, conspiring to overthrow him, fearful of his weird brother Hyperion, who always seemed to see through him.

It was cowardice that drove the courageous king to do something so extreme, so dangerous.

The other titans grew scared, watching as with each birth their own authorities were undermined. The birth of Poseidon and Hades detracted from the gods of the sea and Nyx herself. Not even Rhea was spared, as the birth of Hera, goddess of childbirth undermined the power of fertility and motherhood

This had other effects naturally. For one, no one dared leave their children near Kronos. Not alone.

He could swallow his own children so effortlessly, who knows what he'd do if left alone with others.

Tension was brewing in the ancient world.

After the first time, Hyperion had cooperated with Thetis, producing their three children, Helios, Eos and Selene quickly, ensuring that Kronos couldn't further erode their authority. In myth, the following children had nothing to do with him, but that was myth, and this was reality.

He still married Theia by the way. They weren't solely attracted by appearance in this world, but authority as well. Those with complementary authorities were more attracted to one another.

And as the (originally) sole holders of light, they were highly compatible. Not only that, he was capable of taking human form.

This was the greek world. All gods had the ability to shapeshift and change form. Zeus and his many escapades were unfortunate examples.

It just wasn't as comfortable as his giant form. Most important of all, he had the thing all transmigrators had, placing them a cut above the rest.

Future products. In an age of heavenly foods and stone architecture, massage chairs and crispy pork were a winning formula.

Any modern comfort surpassed the current, primitive world without humanity.

Because of this, Hyperion and Theia had shut themselves off in the land of light, isolating themselves.

While it was in part intended to avoid Kronos' edge, who was no doubt ready to make an example of the first one to step out of line, it was simply because there was better things to do.

When titans got together, they spent most of the time partying.

  And partying,

  And partying,

  and more partying.

  For decades at a time.

Hyperion and Theia found themselves to be equally introverted neets, completely unwilling to go out.

They kept their three children locked up too. This screwed up the order of day and night of course, but the current world had no order whatsoever, with no gods willing to go at Kronos' behest. So it was fine.

Hyperion found his three children interesting. Helio, Eos and Selene looked virtually the same to their original counterparts, save for a crystal embedded in their chests and a crystal in their forehead, similar to his.

They weren't born as infants, but as concepts, before becoming infants.

  Helios- a small sun

  Selene- a moon

  Eos- the dawn itself

  Apparently he was the same.

And when chaos was first born, he first manifested in human form.

This led him to speculate boldly. Perhaps the reason he was born akin to a giant of light was not just a coincidence.

All the early titans were beautiful and pure, derived from Chaos himself, who was a flawless being.

They were infantile titans, with no thoughts from others to affect him and thus relied on the most basic form in their minds to create their own true form-chaos.

But he was different, being a soul from another world, reborn with his own concepts and ideas when it came to light, affecting his own conception.

And accordingly, while affected far less than he, his own descendants were mildly affected by his own concept of light, though it only manifested as timers and crystals for them.

While Theia was relieved, Hyperion quietly wondered if it would be better for his daughters to be born as pure ultraman, if only to avoid Zeus.

Not that he'd voice these thoughts. Not now, and especially not when Zeus becomes god king.

And so, the eons passed, till one day he came knocking.

"This humble god greets the great titan of-"

The young zeus stopped in astonishment looking at Hyperion.

He had heard many things about Hyperion, being the ugliest god to not be cast into Tartarus.

It was said that he was incredibly eccentric and weird, choosing to lock himself away.

Some joked that he locked himself away to avoid suffering the same fate as his brothers.

Seeing him, Zeus had to admit he looked weirder than most.

But he also had his own charm, his otherworldly appearance. Cool even.

No, what was weird was the attire.

Fluffy bathrobes and flip flops, commonly known as home attire in the future.

Hyperion stood there for a moment, and seemingly realizing something, disappeared.

When he came back, he was dressed in the more appropriate robes and sandals.

"Greetings son of Kronos. What brings you to my domain?" He asked politely.

At this point, Zeus had already poisoned Kronos and freed his brethren, meaning it was already common knowledge that Zeus was the last son of Kronos.

"Greetings to the first light in the sky! Is wonderful Theia here as well?" He asked, looking for Theia.

Thinking of Theia currently on the couch currently binge-watching magical girls with a giant bucket of popcorn.

"Theia is currently busy with... other matters currently."

Thinking of how Hyperion had just come out, Zeus had a hunch but ultimately did not comment.

He was here to win Hyperion's support.

Zeus with Metis' assistance, had already picked out Hyperion and Theia as the first to approach. Already isolated due to his appearance, and the least active, Hyperion and Theia were the first to be poached by Zeus.

Originally he would've approached Oceanus first, but as Metis pointed out, as the daughter of Oceanus, her support for Zeus was already an implied representation of Oceanus' choice.

The deed had already been done and he, Oceanus had already been implicated and resentful of Kronos for quite some time.

And Gaea and Nyx had hidden his existence, implicitly on his side.

Their targets were the ones who had been affected by Kronos' attempt to usurp power, and of them, Hyperion and Theia were last.

Gaea had also hinted that at birth, her son Hyperion had demonstrated more power than his peers and on level with the hechatonchires, making Zeus curious to learn what kind of god Hyperion was.

Interesting. Interesting was what he found. As Hyperion took Zeus on a tour of the land of light, Zeus had to admit that this eccentric titan was interesting. The planet was littered with fidget toys and games, showing that Hyperion wasn't just lying around.

Zeus praised Hyperion as creative, and he truly meant it. He had thought Prometheus creative enough, but clearly this Hyperion had many tricks in his sleeve. He had begun to plan, to figure out how to bring such a god into the fold.

While traveling, Zeus also saw a group of giants quite similar to Hyperion in appearance, farming.

On Earth, their appearance would easily be recognized as the ultra brothers from ultraman.

A quiet collaboration between him and the goddess Themis, who found that her authority of justice resonated with Hyperion's authority of light.

Though not high gods, they were fierce fighters with hearts for justice and compassion.

And they were his gift to Zeus. On one hand, he wanted to use them as proof of his loyalties and help push the battle a bit in favor of Zeus.

Even if he knew Zeus was destined to win, why take that risk? Better to arrange it yourself. While not strong, each of them had a quarter of a titan's strength, enough to help turn the tide of war.

It was also to protect them.

He and Themis had made them, and while not his children, each were basically half a son to him.

Knowing these giants were born with a heart of compassion and justice, they would never do well under his care.

This isn't the modern world, where kindness and justice prevails.

Only the will of God King rules. Only the god king was justice. And Zeus, while certainly the fairest god king, was still a harsh ruler at times.

Were they to still be under Hyperion, and cause trouble in the name of compassion, Hyperion had no doubt that the future king would use them to get to him and demonstrate his power.

But if they served Zeus, no matter how much trouble they caused, as long as it wasn't too big of a problem, he'd cover it, punish them mildly at worst.

There was also his own worry for his own 3 children, who unlike their parents, were very eager to join the Titanomachy. They were bound to join, and if the ultra brothers joined, he would feel assured with them as guardians.

Zeus' eyes lit up as he saw them. While not major gods, their connection to the laws of justice, compassion and hope made them very special in his eyes.

As would be godking, Zeus sought stability, assurance of his eternal rule. As long as they, representations of justice and compassion joined his ranks, it would show all the titans that he, Zeus, was a kind and compassionate gods.

He also quickly realized that Hyperion was more rebellious than he appeared at first glance, having hid them so well, acting as farmers. He had no doubt that hyperion was purposefully showing him his stance.

And indeed, by the end of their talks, Hyperion presented them as loyal young gods, seeking to overthrow the unjust Kronos.

They were happy to oblige, already showing some of that heroic nature.

He'd kept them farming in order to restrain that nature, knowing full well that if let loose, they would cause trouble.

Zeus didn't mind of course and was very happy to receive such soldiers.

He'd even gotten the three young titans Helios Eos and Selene to join him.

Unfortunately, Hyperion and Theia seemed unwilling to join. But watching as Hyperion quietly changed back into bunny slippers and bathrobes as he left, Zeus understood now that it was because Hyperion and Theia had clearly become "Withdrawn" unlike their excitable children, reassuring him of their stance.

And so, Zeus, having gained a great haul as well as the token of allegiance from Hyperion, Zues left assured of his future victory while Hyperion saw him off, assured of his future free time.

After the war was over, Zeus invited all his collaborators to celebrate among which was Tartarus weirdly.

Yes, the personification of Tartarus has joined the war, unlike the original myth.

This truly intrigued Hyperion, causing him to seek Tartarus out, seeking to speak to him.

But upon meeting Tartarus, Hyperion was baffled.

Because behind him was four dark giants, created to accompany Tartarus in the underworld, and now supporting lord Hades.

  That wasn't weird.

  What's weird was their appearance.

  They were all dark ultramen!

Hudram, Darrgon, Carmeara and dark tiga!

That last one was really weird, as he looked eerily similar to Hyperion himself.

And Tartarus himself looked very similar to Dark Lugiel!

  Tartarus... was also a transmigrator!?

It was at this moment Hyperion's mind burst as did Tartarus as the two of them pointed at each other.

  "Impossible!"

  "Y-y-y-y-y-y-ou are-"

At that moment, the titan Mnemosyne, the memory of civilization, walked over, seemingly knowing everything as she gave the two of them a knowing look of amusement, as if she'd witnessed something rather funny.

Seeing the two pointing at each other in shock, she joined them, pointing fingers at the two of them as she laughed happily, as Zeus looked on bewildered, wondering why the three of them were pulling off a three-way accusational pointer.

It seemed the greek world was about to undergo an amazing, no, a spectacular change.
