stocking stuffer 2: Reborn as Jin Chanzi in the prehistoric world, Im a golden toad?

Jean was currently gestating in an innate restriction, awaiting the day he would appear in the world of honghuang.

Indeed, he already knew that the world he was gestating in was the prehistoric world, his soul having arrived just in time to watch as Pangu finished chopping the last chaos demon and god, before collapsing inwards, his body dissipating and forming the prehistoric world.

After that he fell unconscious before waking up within the innate restriction, only knowing what the world had conveyed to him.

A restriction is essentially a formation, innate for it was born naturally. And he, Jin, was the innately sacred being conceived within the restriction.

He wasn't sure how to feel.

The world of honghuang is essentially a chinese mythical conglomerate, with the various chinese myths merged to create one singular world, beginning with Pangu parting chaos and killing 3000 chaos demon gods, and ending with the journey to the west.

Like many cultivation novels, all living beings are born with a certain status. In the later ages of the world, the innate sacred are a rare species, each and every one a valuable disciple, with the majority of all living beings being acquired.

But in the early ages, the innate sacred beings were common, no different than ants.

And that's what drove him mad.

  Where was he?

If he was in the early prehistoric world, his life would be in so much more danger. As a mid-level innate sacred being, he would have some potential, but not enough to thrive without worry. But in the early ages, opportunities are plenty, with most opportunities yet to be claimed.

If he were born in the dharma ending ages during journey to the west, his status would be secured, especially if he sought out a great master, but there would be no opportunities left. By the time of journey to the west, the world has already been divided between heaven, Buddhism, Taoism, and the underworld. But it was safer, with the supreme beings having retreated.

Most importantly, the saints were sent into chaos after the investiture of the gods, meaning he wouldn't have to worry about the sages.

The sages, the end point of cultivation in the prehistoric world, beings who are capable of knowing the past and future with ease, capable of erasing a daluo jinxian with ease.

Daluo are beings who have merged the past, present and future selves into one point, placing their soul on the river of time.

Even if they die, true spirit and everything, as long as that wisp remains, they can return after millions of years. But if a saint moves, then there's no chance. A sweep of the hand is enough to permanently remove a being from reality, permanently erasing them.

During the middle ages of the prehistoric world, the sages run rampant, with their disciples being even more troublesome.

Most sages wouldn't move without justification.

  Hurt their disciple? Seeking death!

Yuanshi Tianzun, famously known as the most aloof, is the nastiest, actively attacking three of Tongtian's disciples after they severed the three flowers of his disciples, erasing their cultivation.

A sage, not meant to interfere, unless the world was in peril, used his power to abuse his brother's disciples.

God knows his fate if he even offends one of his.

So Jin wasn't sure where he wanted to be. All he could do was continue to cultivate this innate cultivation technique that was granted to him by the heavenly dao. Once he emerged, he could judge the situation at hand.

He wasn't too worried though. He was the mid-level innate sacred being, the golden shoushan copper spitting toad!

While not strong, he wasn't weak either, for as a toad, he was toxic in nature, but instead his toxin was poisonous to wealth.

Being affected by his toxins meant that the enemies' fortune would be affected. In the prehistoric world, fortune was the most important thing, as they relied on luck to cultivate. Even the saints are not immune to this, with 5 of the 6 saints establishing sects and using their fortune to prove the way.

He jin, planned to disgust his enemy; you dare to touch him, prepare to lose your fortune!

Shoushan copper is a material also conducive to alchemy, and beautiful in nature. And in this world of myth, shoushan copper held the law of wealth at its core. He had even devised a method, the heavy wealth bomb.

The greater your wealth and fortune, the more powerful the blow. Not his fortune, but the enemies.

Of course, the spell had its limits. In the hands of a mere profound immortal, it couldn't hurt taiyi, daluo, quasi saints or even saints, but scaring off a golden immortal should be fine.

And for most, his abilities would make him unappealing to hit, but more appealing to keep.

Jin wasn't stupid. The position of saint in the prehistoric world had been predetermined.

Jieyin and zhunti established the western sect and made 48 great vows, thus becoming saints,

  Nuwa created humanity,

Taishang, Yuanshi, and Tongtian established Renjiao, Chanjiao, and Jiejiao respectively, the three great sects of taoism.

He couldn't do any of these! The three pure ones became saints because they're Pangu authentic, and the world owes them those positions.

Jieyin and Zhunti gain their seats by promising to repair the west, meaning Honjun Daozu, the representative of Heaven owes them this favor due to his part in the west's destruction,

and Nuwa creates humanity because she is adept in the way of creation, something he is definitely not as a wealthy little toad.

Getting involved in any would be too dangerous and too huge of a cause and effect, especially in this mythical world where cause and effect does exist.

It was best to simply be content as a small toad. He was already lucky enough, having even received the innate treasure, the 10,000 treasures banner. Capable of storing 10,000 treasures, depending on the quality of the treasures, the banners defensive and offensive power increases accordingly.

He already tested it, finding that his glandular poison and copper counted as wealth, which greatly increased his power. And accordingly, the stronger he got, the higher quality his own products would be, ensuring his weapon's steady growth.

He, Jin was ready to be born!

As he thought this, the restriction came down, and he Jin was ready to be born.

Feeling driven to speak his name, he spoke.

  "I, JIN CHANZI AM BORN!:"

Before this, Jin did not know his full name, akin to the colored dragons of dnd, only knowing their full name after emerging from the egg. He only knew his first name, Jin.

So imagine his surprise when hearing Jin Chanzi.

Jin chanzi, the ferocious golden cicada?

The original body of Tang sanzang?

Was it just a coincidence? But the same name!

And he was the golden shoushan copper spitting toad!

Toads are often considered one of the 5 poisons, and in gu raising, the cicada is also a famous insect.

It could just be a coincidence of course, as Jin Chan is also the name of the three legged golden toad.

maybe in the prehistoric world there are multiple jin chanzis-

"Amitabha, Amitabha, this toad has some fate with us brother." Before Jin Chanzi could continue to indulge in his delusions, a pair of bald brothers appeared before he could even react.

  Honestly, they were terrifying.

Despite profound immortal being weak in the early to mid-prehistoric age, it was still a profound immortal. During the age of journey to the west, a profound immortal could easily serve as a patriarch in a clan.

For these two to appear so suddenly, meant they were at least two major levels above him.

Staring at them was worse, as the very act of staring at them felt like staring at heaven itself, the golden glow radiating about them causing all the life around him to thrive.

If he couldn't figure out who these two were, wouldn't he be a fool?

"This lowly self greets the saints!" Jin chanzi immediately got down and greeted the saints.

No matter how much modern fiction makes fun of the two western saints, jokingly calling them the weakest, they're still saints, easily capable of erasing him with just a glance.

Most importantly, hearing the first one speak, he knew that there was no point in resisting.

After all, Jieyin and Zhunti also have a rather famous name.

The kidnapping saints! If Shen Gongbao is famous for his "please stay fallow daoist" then they're famous for saying "you have a destiny with the west".

No point resisting. may as well enjoy it.

Seeing the toad turned young man react so quickly, Zhunti chuckled, rubbing his chin.

"Teachable. This boy is very teachable! I'll have to inform Maitreya and Medicine that we've found them a new junior brother."

Jieyin on the other hand, had a weird look in his eyes. "Young man, what did you say your name was again?"

"My name is Jin Chanzi sir."

Hearing this, Jieyin had an even weirder look as he started deducing the secrets of heaven.

"Weird, it is him. But he's not a golden cicada but a toad. Why did things change so?" Jieyin said with a very confused look, for a change unseen by even a saint had occurred.

So he was Jin Chanzi. Hearing this confirmation, Jin Chanzi couldn't help but feel hopeless.

Afterall, Jin Chanzi's fate is not pleasant to say the least. Tang Sanzang's baldness isn't just cause he's a monk, but because of the number of times his hairs have been plucked so that demons could eat him!

And the 9 previous reincarnations were eaten by his future disciple Sha Wujing! None of that was pleasant!

Journey west on foot for 14 years!? No, it's the prehistoric world, it might end up 14000 years if he's lucky!

While lamenting his fate, Jieyin said somethingrandomly that was unbelievable to him.

"the 1998 godzilla movie was the best one"

"Eh? What kind of nonsensical-" Jin Chanzi paused for a moment before turning to look at the saint with confusion.

Jieyin on the other hand, having received confirmation, had a bigger and bigger grin on his face.

Zhunti seemed confused at first, until it dawned on him, and he grinned too, clasping his hands together.

"Good, good! It seems this young Daoist is destined to the west!"

Jin Chanzi's eye twitched hearing that, and Jieyin chuckled seeing his expression.

It seemed master and desciple had more in common then they had realized.

As the two saints of the west began traveling westward, to return to mount Lingshan, Jieyin and Jin Chanzi had much to talk about.

  For example:

"So you have a system too master?"

"Indeed, indeed. Because of it, I managed to cut down the number of vows necessary to 10" Jieyin said proudly.

In the prehistoric world, the 48 grand vows of the western saints were essentially loans for merits, so they could complete their ascension to sainthood. A loan from the heavenly dao is by no means cheap, placing heavy chains on the person who made them.

Unlike the three pure ones, who had Pangu's merit of creation, Nuwa's merit of creating humanity, Jieyin and Zhunti were lacking, and thus required to borrow from the heavenly loanshark.

But clearly, there had been a drastic change, ensuring that the two could cut their losses.

"Wow! What kind of system is it master?"

Jin's innocent question however, caused Jieyin to pause awkwardly, and Zhunti to look confused.

"Why hesitate brother? Just tell him." He said before turning to Jin. "Your master's system is called "Destined to the West". The more people he converts, the more rewards he receives."

Hearing this, Jin gave his master a funny look.

No wonder he looked so embarrassed! Just as no one in the prehistoric world is unaware of the western sects shamelessness, cn novel readers also know of Buddhism's famous abduction activities!

Seeing his disciple's knowing look, Jieyin couldn't help but be flustered.

It was one thing for all prehistoric people to know his nature, but to be looked at like this by a fellow Earthling was embarrassing!

"I don't kidnap people! I just preach the dao, and people come running. I only use virtue!" Jieyin defended himself.

Indeed, virtue! Confucius also spoke of virtue!

  Martial virtue!

Seeing his unconvinced look, Jieyin knew that his newest disciple had misunderstood, and just moved on.

"So what kind of system do you have disciple?" he asked.

"Mine is the myriad worlds bonding system. Depending on the treasure I use, I can summon a being of corresponding quality." Jin Chanzi explained, and Jieyin's eyes lit up at that.

"By being, what do you mean?" He asked, and Jin Chanzi gave him a knowing look.

  "Any."

  "Mythological?" "yes"

  "Cartoon?" "Yes"

  "Games?" "Yes."

Hearing this, Jieyin was rather giddy, but measured as well.

"So if I asked you to summon say, Vulcan, how much would it cost?" he asked, and Jin Chanzi paused, asking the system for a moment.

"A high innate level treasure." he answered. While Zhunti seemed unsure, Jieyin threw one at his disciple.

"The true yang fire furnace. High level innate."

Jin Chanzi wasted no time, activating the system.

The furnace glowed, as the space surrounding them became filled with laws, space collapsing as a new being was born into this reality.

A rough mediterranean man emerged, with a serious limp, but a well-developed body appeared, watching them all carefully. His level was at the same level as his master, of the profound immortal stage. Unsurprising, as Jin had explained that all those who were summoned would have the same level of cultivation as his own.

He wasn't wary, but analytical, sizing each of them, before turning to face his new master.

"Greetings. You are the one who has created me?" he confirmed, and Jin Chanzi nodded, before asking.

"What do you mean by create?"

Vulcan explained casually. "Even though I have all the memories and skills of Vulcan, I can very much confirm I am not Vulcan. I am more akin to a manifestation of this divine furnace here" he said, pointing at the furnace, which was now floating in his hand, before adding on.

"While the destruction of this tether will not kill me, it will certainly weaken me. "

Jieyin and Zhunti shared a glance, both recognizing the skills of this man before them in dissecting his current form so cleanly.

'Who is this person brother?' Zhunti asked.

'A god of weapon smithing, capable of creating the greatest weapons in his world' This explanation was enough to make Zhunti dance with joy.

The west was barren, devoid of people and devoid of resources, and despite Jieyin's efforts, the west was still lacking talented individuals.

But now this prized disciple had the ability to summon talents from across space and time? This was practically a godsend!

  Jieyin stepped in, asking Vulcan.

"Tell me, what is the limit of your ability to create? Can you produce something of the innate level?" he asked, and Vulcan narrowed his eyes.

"Depends. Do you mean divine? If you mean divine, then yes, I can do that, even with mortal metals."

Hearing this, Jieyin frowned. "No, innate. Like me and your master, we are innate beings. Could you produce a treasure of similar quality?"

Vulcan smacked his lips before responding carefully. "I don't know what you're going on about, innate or whatever, but your nature seems divine to me. If you mean a weapon of similar status to you, then yes, I can produce such a thing with "acquired" metals." he said, lingering on the concept of acquired and innate.

Hearing this, the two saints started grinning again. If the God before them could truly produce weapons of high quality with merely acquired metals, then their western sect would have not only a new avenue of wealth, but gain the ability to pave the way to the future for their disciples.

To break through from daluo jinxian to quasi saint, one must use an innate treasure.

Unfortunately, innate treasures are limited, as like all innate beings, were born at the beginning of the world, with some being born sooner than later.

In other words, there was a set number of innate treasures and innate beings.

It wasn't noticeable now, but as saints, Jieyin and Zhunti knew that eventually all the innate would emerge in the world, divided amongst the powerful, and eventually none would be left.

Jieyin had already decided he would act uprightly, how could he be so shameless as to steal from others?

And even if he does, the trend is there; how many innate treasures can he produce?

Excited, the two quickly produced a few acquired materials, and upon Jin Chanzi's request, Vulcan set to work, and within mere years, a low-level innate spear was produced.

While merely low-level innate, the premise was there.

For the west and the prehistoric world at large, who cared if it was a low innate treasure? Most people would never get past the early quasi-saint!

They would be happy to just receive this glimmer of hope! Who knows how many will arrive in droves, clamoring for their own innate treasure.

This Jin Chanzi was truly a walking treasure!

If one Vulcan was not enough, could they not simply summon others such as Ilmarinen, dwarves, or Ptah?

A desolate west could easily be solved by Pokémon or gods like Demeter.

Jieyin fixed his eyes upon this promising disciple and earnestly promised him.

"Jin Chanzi, I've decided to take you in as an inner sect disciple. Are you willing?"

Hearing this, Jin spent no time falling to his knees, showing some of that western shamelessness.

  "Disciple is willing!"

"Good! When we arrive at Lingshan, I'll introduce you to the others. Although we layman are poor, compared to the infighting of the three pure ones, we the west are a united force." Jieyin promised.

This, Jin understood well. Unlike the two saints of the west, who stood together through thick and thin, during the investiture of the gods, the calamity just before journey to the west, Yuanshi Tianzun and Taishang Laojun would work with the two western saints to subdue their brother Tongtian after killing most of his disciples and allowing buddhism to convert the rest.

And by the time of Journey to the west, the final winner is clearly buddhism, with the three sects having disappeared into history, while buddhism becomes a co-ruler of the three realms!

Now that he was an inner sect disciple of the two saints, and not a disciple of the Tathagata, who is a traitor from Jiejiao, the chances of him suffering 10 lifetimes of being doordash has decreased just that much!

And even if he does, he'll at least enjoy the benefits too, drink soup so to say.

Turning to Vulcan, they spoke kindly to their future employee.

"Is there anything you'd like as well?" they asked, and Vulcan spoke bluntly.

"If possible, I'd like for you to summon my cyclops teachers to this world as well as my wife Aglaia and my four daughters."

"Done" Jieyin agreed without batting an eye. Ignoring the benefits of also bringing over the three cyclops, who were also great blacksmiths, bringing over Vulcan's family ensured his good mood.

Given the value he provides, what's the harm in providing him tangible benefits?

As they approached Lingshan, each had their own thoughts, each excited for the future.
