Lilith hadn’t immediately registered her presence, as she staggered and writhed at the searing pain pulsating from her ravaged arm.
Ah, urgh…what in the world just happened!? Breaking out into a sweat as the pain coursed through her body, Lilith questioned.
Charlotte had inspected the bodies of the super soldiers strewn across the environment, both injured and deceased. Her eyes then wandered to her brother and her other close comrades, before an exasperated sigh left her mouth.
“...Stop your annoying screams,” Returning her gaze to the suffering Lilith with a cold stare, Charlotte remarked. “For all the shit you’ve done, your suffering is just beginning.”
“You…where’s Charles?” Lilith questioned as she clenched the exposed blood, bone and flesh of her arm. Her response was not given its common courtesy as Charlotte instead turned her gaze towards Olivia.
“Don’t think I forgot about you…pesky little parasite,” Charlotte berated before stretching her hand towards the panicked Olivia’s direction. Lilith’s pain had immediately been washed over by a wave of shock as she witnessed Charlotte’s attention towards her friend, her alertness intensified by the slight tremors which traversed the ground.
“Olivia!” Lilith yelled as a snake-like spike had protruded from the concrete, seeking out Olivia at terrifying speeds. Olivia had stood like a statue, unable to react to the oncoming rock formation, but a sudden jerk to the side had pushed her away from her untimely demise.
“Ugh!” Being knocked to the floor, the spike had narrowly missed as it rushed past her. Olivia never even registered herself being pushed towards the ground, as her eyes were plastered to the direction of yelling.
“AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!” Olivia had been pushed out of the way, but Lilith had taken her place. With a wet crack, the spike had torn Lilith’s only uninjured arm right off her body. Her katana which she originally held with her good arm had been propelled dozens of meters away at the hands of the spike.
In an instant, Lilith had dropped to her knees, overcome with immense pain.
“A-Ah! Lilith!” Olivia had called out with furrowed eyebrows and twitching lips. She wasted no time and grabbed her friend before making a desperate run.
“...What a stupid woman, protecting that parasite,” Charlotte remarked as she calmly watched the injured Lilith running away with Olivia. “You only succeeded in hurting yourself further.”
“Damn…you took down that bastard, huh?” Leon remarked as he pulled himself off the ground, observing the mutilated corpse of Cryostasis. “You really are the strongest, huh?”
“...Who cares about that…?” Frank muttered as he limped towards his club, reuniting himself with his weapon. “I’m going to murder that bitch for screwing with me like that!”
“You are back, Charlotte,” Attracting the attention of her subordinates was Ada, who strolled up with bated breath. Her presence was accompanied by Nolan. “Huff, I knew you would have dealt with that monster, Charles.”
“...Of course, madam. There’s no way I would have lost to him…although he was tough,” Charlotte replied. “But more importantly, are you okay? It seems like you are uncomfortable.”
Ada’s expression soured even further as she turned her head away from her subordinates, raising concern on their faces.
“M-Madam?”
“...That disgusting bitch nearly murdered me. I actually felt like I was going to die…and I actually felt…scared,” Ada admitted, garnering solemn looks from her allies. “Go find her…but don’t go for the kill. That would be too easy for her.”
“...Don’t worry, madam,” Frank assured. “We’ll make sure she pays dearly.”

Lilith had carried her injured self along with her friend across the city, Olivia’s concern raising at the heavy breathing which accompanied the travel. Her stride was cut short with an audible grunt, as Lilith had stumbled along an alleyway.
“Urghh! AAAHHHHH!!!” Unable to bear the pain any longer, Lilith had sat leaning on the alleyway walls, screaming in pain.
“L-Lilith! D-Don’t worry!” Olivia panicked as she desperately rummaged through her backpack. “I-I’ll numb your pain!”
Olivia had pulled out a transparent canister with a blue viscous liquid swerving around inside, and she had quickly pulled open its cap.
“Here, drink up!” Olivia advised as she placed the canister up to Lilith’s mouth. “The pain will go away quickly!”
Lilith had obeyed and consumed the liquid given to her. The audible grunts only lasted mere moments before her breath had regulated.
“...I’m feeling…better,” Lilith muttered. “Thanks.”
“The pain relief…won’t last very long, but we have to…stop the bleeding now,” Olivia remarked as she tied fabric around the stump of Lilith’s severed arm. “B-But…your other…arm.”
“...It’s fine. It’s not hurting as much now,” Lilith pondered. “My arm…looks terrible.”
The two women looked at the ravaged arm with dejection dripping from their faces. Their silence was interrupted by the thunderous sounds of super soldiers closing in from the distance.

“...L-Lilith…wouldn’t it be better…if we run away?”
“What?”
“I-It’s not just the soldiers in this state, but all of America's forces are gradually arriving here. We barely made a dent in Ada’s army,” Olivia explained. “Our plan…already failed…and you’re too injured to fight. If we escape to somewhere far away…we maybe can live through this. You can even bring Na–”
“No, I’m not going to run away,” Lilith interjected. “It’s impossible for me to do that…I’ve come too far.”
“B-But it’s hopeless, Lilith!” Olivia yelled. “The odds…are heavily skewed in Ada’s favor!”
“It’s not like we can run away…the developer would never allow that,” Lilith responded. “So I’ll at least kill Ada. She was the one behind all of our misery, anyways.”
“...I don’t care…about that anymore,” Olivia replied. “I just don’t want you to die.”
“I’m sorry, Olivia. I just can’t leave this alone,” Lilith remarked. “I want to protect Nathan…I love him too much.”

“Where did those criminals even go?” A super soldier questioned as he and his allies searched across the city. “They didn’t escape us, did they?”
“Escape us? Don’t be foolish,” Another super soldier replied. “You saw how much of a mess the strong one became after Charlotte dealt with her. There’s no way she’s going to make it far.”
“Not even that. Who cares if they made it far,” A third super soldier remarked. “Look what they did to this city, its people…and most importantly what they tried on our president. They will die no matter where they escape to–”
KSSHT!
The confident declaration of the super soldiers were rewarded by the sudden diagonal streaks of blood spurting from their chests. Their grunts were audible as they fell to the ground.
The numerous infantry around were alerted at the sudden injuries of the trio, their eyes frantically searching around for the perpetrator. Their eyes had tracked the high speed Lilith, closing in to engage more soldiers.
She slashed at a nearby soldier, though her efforts were in vain as they narrowly avoided it with shock. That miss never deterred her, however, as she kept swinging her katana.
Though she landed cuts on the soldiers around her, they were able to react and avoid a majority of her slashes. Her rate of breathing only increased as she fought.
“What the hell is her problem?” A super soldier questioned as he watched Lilith fight his allies. “How does she still have so much energy even in such a state?”
“I don’t know but who cares? She’s definitely not as fast as before!” Another super soldier replied before charging at Lilith. “She’s done for!”
“Huh–”
Lilith had turned around and was greeted by a powerful kick to her jaw, knocking her across the ground. After bouncing on her back and head several times, Lilith had stopped her momentum as she planted her feet.
Huff, huff…this is really bad. Not only am I missing an arm, but my body is starting to buckle. Lilith pondered as she breathed heavily, her legs trembled and her body drenched in sweat. The fallout from using the breathing skill is taking effect. It’s still this fast even after I trained so hard to increase my stamina.
Many super soldiers were gathered in front of her, hesitant to approach the unpredictable Lilith despite her visible fatigue.
No…I have to keep pushing my body. Lilith internally resolved as she took a deep breath. I must take down Ada!
She rushed past them with a burst of speed, much to their surprise. They were no longer her targets as Lilith maneuvered around them. Her path was suddenly blocked by reacting super soldiers, forcing her to engage them in close quarters.
“Where do you think you’re going!?” The taunts of a super soldier were audible as he and his allies fought Lilith. “You tryna run away?”
Lilith’s sluggish movements compared to her prior to her injuries at the hands of Charlotte had given the soldiers the courage to battle the once overwhelming enemy before them. Lilith’s body had buckled under the strikes they had repeatedly squeezed onto her.
“Haa…rah!” Lilith had forced her way through the enemies, kicking off her desperate dash with an aggressive grunt. The hoards of soldiers had watched with shock as Lilith ran past, but her gaze was glued on Ada as she closed in. I must kill her–
BAM!!!
“Raaahhhh!!!” With a violent roar leaving his mouth, Frank had intercepted Lilith as his club connected squarely with her side. The impact on her ribs was accompanied by a bone popping sound, and followed by the thunderous blasts of Lilith’s body being blasted through the concrete walls of several buildings.
She was left broken on the ground, her back leaning on the rubble that remained from the last building Lilith crashed into.
“Haha…I got a perfect hit on that bitch!” With a smirk on his face, Frank bragged. Everyone had surrounded the building Lilith occupied as they finally cornered her. “We know you’re not dead…hurry up and come out!”
His demand was followed by silence as the crowd waited for the criminal. The slow, intermittent tapping of footsteps and audible grunts had disturbed that silence.
“Make sure you all are on your guards,” Nolan remarked. “She’s rather unpredictable.”
“Heh, there’s nothing to worry about that injured monoplegic,” Frank mocked. “She’s done for.”
Lilith staggered as she approached, blood had trekked from her holding down head. Seeing the beaten state of her enemy, Ada had observed with a slight grin on her face.
“...Fufu, have you finally realized the futility of your actions, Lilith? The soldiers you have taken down meant nothing in the grand scheme of things,” Ada remarked. “Your fate was sealed from the very beginning–”
“E-Enough…just be…quiet!”
Ada’s face scrunched up at the aggressive remark from Lilith.
“Tch…just say the word madam,” Leon remarked. “We’ll take her life in any way you see fit.”
Yeah, this bitch has become a pain on my nerves…maybe more so than Nathan. I could kill her and be done with it, but I have to make her suffer, just like she did to me. Ada pondered as she smiled menacingly. I’ll utterly destroy her by making my men have their way with her…only then I’ll kill her.
"Sigh, it's looking hopeless. Lilith is going to die at this rate," The developer remarked as he watched from the sidelines. "All that talk just for things to end like this, huh?"
"...She should have killed all in her way...even though something like that is horrible to ask of her," The NPC replied. "...I was rooting for her too."
The developer had gritted his teeth and furrowed his eyebrows as he watched with clear frustration.
"Damn, after all this time I spent...Lilith was the last option since Nathan is out, but it seems it'll end in a failure," The developer continued in a lower tone. "Do I have enough time to start over with new characters? That I don't know."
"...We should--huh?" The NPC, about to speak once more, had his sentence suddenly interrupted as his head shifted back to Lilith's battle. The developer too had his attention peaked in unison.
"Wait a second, what could this be?" The developer suddenly remarked with a smirk. "Heh..hehe."
