Huangtu Inn

When they finally left, Jin bursted into a hoot of laughter.

Lu Zheng chuckled as well… slowly, gaining momentum as he could not help but burst into laughter.

The remaining drunkards in the tables in front of them were knocked cold from the drink, so they were confident they would not be able to catch them laughing to their heart’s content after what happened.

Jin said, “They really believe that bullshit. I say, you really are bold. To think you will really use your name?”

Lu Zheng chuckled and then shrugged. “I don’t have a choice. That was impromptu. I did not expect it would do well.”

“Yes, it would… for the meantime.” Jin grinned. “Now, as you revealed your name, once you are exposed, you won’t be able to use it anymore.”

Lu Zheng shrugged. “I can just use an alias. It’s also what the rogue cultivators used anyway. I’ll be one soon, too.”

Jin chuckled and shook his head. “You’re right. Also, you made a mistake.”

“What is it?” Lu Zheng furrowed his eyebrows.

“Did you really say you’ll stay here? How will you leave then?”

Lu Zheng furrowed his eyebrows even more.

He replied, “What’s wrong with that? I mean, I’ll just leave, then.”

Jin sighed. “You are right. But what if they came back once you were gone?”

“Just tell them I have decided to search for him, then. After all, just waiting is so boring.”

Jin shook his head. “You might not know, but you are already suspicious. What if they really went to that Elder you mentioned and talked about you?”

Lu Zheng grinned. “That won’t be possible, Jin. That Elder is a terror. He kept all disciples away with his temper. That guy really dares to talk with him? He already knows that if I’m suspicious and still ask that Elder, he’ll die.”

Jin smiled. “Alright. Since you are already confident, you might as well take responsibility for your decisions.”

He turned around and walked towards the scabbard and the necklace, grasping the hilt of Lu Zheng’s sword.

He would dye them, as well.

At the same time, Lu Zheng was lost in his own thoughts, staring at Jin’s back.

Jin’s words echoed in his mind.

He mumbled subconsciously, “I always am, Jin. I always do.”

  …

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Half an hour later, as Jin and Lu Zheng chatted while waiting for the dyeing to dry, Jin finally checked and confirmed it was already dried.

He grabbed them all at once and handed it to Lu Zheng.

Lu Zheng wore it swiftly, even though he was a bit satisfied that a legendary rank weapon was reduced to such an ugly appearance.

However, if it was only for a moment and for his survival, he could tolerate it.

Once he was finished with his preparations, he glanced at Jin, who was smiling at him, and said, “I can trust you that you can act, right?”

“Yes. Of course.” Jin chuckled. “Leave everything to me.”

Lu Zheng nodded, turned around, and left the Inn.

He was about to take a step away from the Inn when he remembered he did know its name yet.

He turned around and glanced at the placards above. He was startled when he read it.

“Huangtu Inn?” He mumbled dazedly. “He is indeed from the Yellow Earth Clan, also known as Huangtu Clan. To think he really dares to use its name and had it established in different cities.”

Lu Zheng admired him a bit.

After all, it’s rare for a cultivator to become a wealthy merchant. He even had time to mess around and build his own business, expanding it to different cities.

He thought. However, why is he here? Also, from what I recall, this Inn has been here for five years. Did he come here knowing about the war?

Lu Zheng pondered for a while and finally nodded. He thought. I guess, from his personality, he was trying to take advantage.

He looked down and saw the empty money pouch in his waist. He shrugged.

That guy is really a money grabber.

Lu Zheng turned around and tried to determine his location. On his right led to the exit of the city.

As a city, of course, it has its walls. There are only four entrances and exits but the nearest one was to his right.

On his left, Crimson Lantern Pavilion. It might take ten minutes to arrive there by walking and another ten minutes to reach the exit near it, but he would obviously have to spend more time if he met an internal member of the Scorching Blade Clan.

He might have successfully fooled the external members, but he would definitely be able to do the same if it was an internal member.

Since it was currently past the middle of the night, the street has less crowds. Citizens became even more reclusive since a war between two major clans in the city had broken.

Hence, the likelihood of meeting the members of the Scorching Blade Clan, rather than citizens, was higher.

I might be able to meet a rogue cultivator though.

Rogue cultivators was a title for those cultivators not affiliated with any clans. There were many reasons, but many of them were simple—they lacked the qualifications.

Even then, some rogue cultivators were strong and they simply did not want to be associated with any clans.

Lu Zheng wanted to become like them.

Lu Zheng finally awakened from his stupor, turning to his right without hesitation and finally decided to leave the city.

By walking, he would only need ten minutes to reach the exit.

However, after five minutes of walking, he frowned. He swept his gaze and saw an isolated corner to hide himself.

Once he successfully hid himself, he waited until five internal members came out in the corner and walked in the street where he currently was.

Their pace was hurried as they finally passed by Lu Zheng’s location.

Lu Zheng frowned even more. He waited for a bit, still hearing a noise of footsteps echoing on the left side of the intersection.

This time, it was two external members who came out and entered the street where he currently was.

He came out of the shadows and met them.

They were startled and were on guard. However, seeing his robe, they calmed down.

Before they said anything, Lu Zheng asked, “Where are you all going?”
