Chapter 70. Messy room.

“Why? I wasn't the one who decided to make fun of you…” Xania muttered softly, immediately shutting up as Anise glared at her.

“Petty,” The little girl muttered, also shutting up after Anise glared at her.

Anise leaned against a bookshelf, watching the two before growing impatient, “You two stay here, I'm gonna go look for the diviner wherever she is. Stay.” She wandered off, looking for the diviner.

“Hey,” the little girl whispered to Xania.

  “What?” Xania leaned in close.

“I know where she is, wanna ditch?”

“You sure? If we get caught again, we're screwed for sure this time.”

  “Yeah.”

“Sure then, I don't wanna stay here any longer,” Xania gently lifted the buckets of water off their heads before slowly standing up and peeking around the corners of the book shelves to look for Anise, with the little girl doing the same on the other side.

“Hey, is she there?” Xania turned around to ask.

“No, what about your side?” The little girl responded.

  “Alright, let's go.”

Xania and the little girl prepared to run away before Xania's tail gets pulled, and the girl's arm was grabbed from behind, causing both of them to turn around, finding Anise pulling her tail and a woman holding the girl's arm.

“Wait, hear me out. Don't you know they say that forgiveness is a virtue?” Xania said with confidence before Anise yanked her tail, causing her to stumble slightly

“Yeah, what she said. Forgiveness is a virtue,” the little girl followed Xania, earning her a smack on the head from the woman.

“My apologies for my daughter,” the woman said before turning to the little girl. “I already told you not to misbehave when we have guests, right?”

Xania leaned in towards Anise before whispering, “Who is she?” Anise yanked Xania's tail again, causing her to stumble slightly again.

“She's the diviner, and stop changing the topic. You better learn how to behave properly before I tie your tail to a pole, " Anise said, still slightly annoyed.

“Fine…” Xania reluctantly agreed despite not meaning it.

The diviner who was pulling her daughter's ear suddenly turned to Xania and took a deep breath before speaking. “Excuse me for forgetting to introduce myself, I am the dragon's diviner, my name is Magnasma. And her name is…” Her voice trailed off as she stared at her daughter.

  “Vasioelle…” Her daughter reluctantly answered.

“So you're gonna help us?” Xania asked, watching as she went back to pulling her daughter's ear.

“Indeed, but I can't guarantee results,” the diviner answered, turning to Xania and letting go of Vasioelle’s ear.

“Sure, I didn't expect much anyway,” Xania said without thinking, causing Anise to kick the back of her leg.

“What?” Xania asked, irritated with Anise.

“That's rude,” Anise said while crossing her arms.

  “How so?”

Anise sighed before uncrossing her arms, “screw it, just keep quiet until the end of this session alright?”

“Fine…” Xania reluctantly agreed, not wanting to irritate Anise.

“It’s alright, as long as she didn't mean to be rude, it doesn't matter,” The diviner said, surprising Xania.

“Really? Cause usually when I say usually offensive things, people typically get annoyed.” Xania said before getting a slight nod from the diviner.

“Now, if you'd follow me,” the diviner said before walking away as Vasioelle quickly chased after her.

Xania turned to Anise, who started following the diviner with Xania following behind Anise, “Where are we going?” Xania asked.

“How would I know?” Anise answered without bothering to face Xania, continuing to follow the diviner.

“Well, you're the one who wanted to come here, so where are we going?” Xania asked again, annoying Anise.

“I have no clue, never been here before,” She responded, speeding up her pace slightly to make some distance between herself and Xania.

“Yeah, but shouldn't you at least know a bit?”

  “Nope.”

“Where—” Xania asked, getting interrupted by Anise.

“Ah,” Anise turned around, placing a finger on Xania's lips.

Xania pushed her finger off, “w—”

“Ah ah ah,” Anise interrupted, not giving Xania a chance to speak up. “My lord, stop asking, I have no clue, just follow along.” Anise placed her finger back on Xania's lips and kept it there for a while before slowly removing her finger.

“Alright, let's go now. Now, no more questions from you,” Anise slowly backed up before turning around and following the diviner again as Xania quickly chased up while pouting.

Anise glanced at Xania, deciding not to bother with her, “We're here.” The diviner said as they stood in front of the wall opposite the entrance.

“Huh?” Xania looked around for any hidden doors before attempting to probe the wall with her mana to check for any magic an entrance but found none.

“It's not the wall,” the diviner suddenly said, stomping her foot on the ground before Xania could question it, causing the ground to open up as they all fell in.

“Why, though? Why not the wall?” Xania asked while falling, using one hand to keep her dress down and keeping her hair down with the other.

“Most people don't think to check the ground, and I have equipment here that could look into the future if somebody who was knowledgeable broke into my area so it's kept pretty safe.” She said before landing after a few more seconds of falling.

“If you invite a human to visit you, wouldn't they die once they landed?” Xania asked, causing the diviner to contemplate for a moment.

“Oh well, I'll cross that bridge once I get to it.” She answered before walking down the small tunnel at the bottom of the landing, eventually arriving at a seemingly normal wooden door and opening it to find a cramp untidy room with bookshelves at the sides of the room along with many books scattered around the ground with a glass orb in the center of the room on a small circular wooden table.

“You'll have to excuse my room, I don't get many visitors, and whenever I do clean up, she messes it up,” the diviner poked Vasioelle’s cheeks before standing behind the orb.
