Chapter 54. 9400 days is short.

A couple days later, Hilda, Shila and Jamine are all lying on the ground. Jamine's regeneration still working due to it being a part of her and not the system completely.

“Hildaaaa, we gotta beat him, when he disconnected me from the system i—”

“—it hurt.” Hilda completes Shila's sentence.

  “Exactly so—”

“So, stop complaining. You've been repeating the same thing, we'll get revenge okay? I promise well, eventually.”

  “Mom, this is fun!”

“Yea, obviously since you can't feel pain, you've just been sent flying multiple times.” Hilda looks over, getting slightly annoyed at how happy Jamine is before sighing.

“Fine, I guess I should be happy that your happy instead of disliking it.” Hilda admits.

“Wow Hilda, you're finally acting somewhat like a mom huh?” Shila jokes, shutting up as Hilda glares slightly at her as they both stand up, their bodies somewhat sore as Jamine is running around happily.

“Hey, Shila, where did the bastard go?” Hilda looks over at Shila who just shrugs.

  “Iduno?”

  “... Speak properly.”

“I.Dont.Kno—” Shila slowly and clearly pronounces the words out.

“Oh shut up, I understood what you were saying, it was just annoying.”

“Hey Hilda, is this even necessary? Once the system is back on we could ditch.”

“I suppose it wouldn't hurt to actually train would it?”

“Yea but you could get skills that improve how fast you learn!”

“I can? Will I be able to keep up how good I am at fighting if I lose the system again?”

“Yea, since being a skilled person isn't a damn skill.” Shila says like it's the most obvious thing ever which probably is.

  “Nice, let's get it.”

“Can't, shop doesn't work, nothing works.”

  “You do.”

“Yea, and like I've said many times before. I'm part of the system, not the system itself.”

“... Annoying.” Hilda tries to open the system up again but 2 halves of the system appear in front of her, dropping to the ground.

“Seriously Shila, can't you super glue it back together or something?”

“...” Shila walks away, ignoring Hilda.

Evan comes back later, annoying Hilda and Shila but exciting Jamine.

  “Mom, the guy is back!”

“Yea, I know, I can see. Also, that isn't a ‘guy’ that's a bastard, come on, say it either me. B.A.S.T.A.R.D bast—” Hilda gets interrupted as Shila hits her on her head.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

  “Hilda, shut up!”

“Fine, fine. I even got you an upgrade. Come to think of it, what did the upgrade give you?”

  “More stats.”

“Well, except for that… obviously.” Hilda mutters the last part softly so Shila doesn't complain but it still annoys Shila due to it obviously being rude.

  “More authority!” Shila proudly says.

  “Which does?”

“The things that would've given you a low level penalty last time are free now.

“So the map function is free?”

“Yea, but it'll be empty since the higher level then monsters you want to find takes a higher penalty.”

“Well, it doesn't have to be monsters.”

“Yea right, you think you can cheat by finding secret areas or something?”

“Well no, I was just curious.”

Shila sighs, walking to pick up Jamine and turning her to face her.

  “Jamine.”

“Sis?” Jamine replies, tilting her head in confusion.

“Don't talk to random old men. For almost you know they could be—”

“And you told me to shut up just now Shila.” Hilda interrupts.

“Be what?” Jamine asks very curiously.

“Nothing. But here's a warning, okay? If a random guy tells you to follow him and he starts taking off his pants. Spit acid on him.”

“Ok!” Jamine answers, no longer curious.

  “Wow, that was easy.”

  “Hilda… shut up.”

  “You started this.”

“Hey, can you three stop arguing and getting ready?” Evan interrupts.

“Fine.” Shila and Hilda both grumble.

Couple hours later, Hilda and Shila lie on the ground, ignoring Jamine who is running around without a care.

  “Hey Jamine…” Hilda says weakly.

  “Yea?”

“Please just keep quiet. Like, just a little bit more.”

  “Ok? Why?”

“I'm in pain, your voice isn't helping.”

“What's the supposed to mean?!” Jamine runs away angrily.

“... Well, I guess the problem was solved regardless.”

Suddenly, Shila yelps in pain, chasing Hilda to turn towards her immediately. “You okay?”

“Yep… but being disconnected from the system will cause sudden jolts of pain. Don't ask me why, I don't know but I'll be okay, it won't get worse.”

“... Oh.” Hilda thinks for a moment as Shila sighs.

“I'm not even going to read your mind or memories, no way you're thinking of anything good.”

  “Rude.”

“Jamine, come back!” Hilda shouts as she sits up, finding Jamine peeking at her from the corner.

“Come back, be a good girl.” Hilda says as Jamie slowly walks up to Hilda, fidgeting nervously.

“What are you nervous for?” Hilda carries Jamine by her arms suddenly, surprising her.

  “Mom, what are you doing?!”

“Calm down, stop being so petty and holding grudges all the time.”

“I'm not petty!” Jamie crosses her arms as she pouts, causing Hilda to grab a couple of snacks out for her, making her happy again

“Jamie, go help your sis, she's in pain.”

“Sis pain?” Jamine turns to Shila whose glaring at Hilda, still somewhat in pain but mostly okay.

Jamine jumps out of Hilda's arms, running to Shila.

“Sis okay?” She tugs on Shila's hand.

“Yep, sis okay.” Shila pats Jamine's head, annoying her.

  “Stop that!”

  *Why? Hilda can.”

“Because she's mom! Your sis! We are the same age, you can't!”

“You do realize I'm a lot more mature than you!”

  “Can't!”

“Fine, fine, I'm okay so go back to your mom.”

“Hmph!” Jamine goes back to Hilda, sitting on her lap while still pouting.

  “Hey Hilda.”

  “Yea?”

“Remember how I said we could build a big cannon last time!”

  “Yea?”

“We can build a smaller version, like a pistol though it can't use as much mana as the cannon.”

“Nice, when can we make it?”

“The territory produces 70,000 points weekly so… not too long.”

  “Nice. But how long exactly?”

“Seeing as you currently have 6 million points…9400 days.”

“... How the hell is that ‘not too long’?! ”

“I lied, also it requires 100,000,000 points since you upgraded me and I got a better estimate.”

  “...”

Hilda sighs, not bothering to argue as she walks away annoyed

  “Jamine.”

  “Huh?”

“Is 9400 days short?” Hilda asks as Jamine starts using her fingers to count.

“...” Jamine looks at her fingers for a moment before turning back to Hilda. “Is this 9400?” She holds up 10 fingers.

“No Jamine, 9400 is that and 940 times more.”

Jamie tries to count again but gives but before reaching 30 and nods.

“94… whatever number mom said is king!”

“Exactly, go tell your sis that.”

Jamine starts running to Shila, speaking for a moment before returning.

  “Mom, she said you're impatient.”

“Tell her she's crazy.” Hilda says as Jamine runs off to Shila again.

This keeps repeating as Jamine eventually gives up, running away after delivering another message to Shila.

Hilda walks up to Shila. “See what you did.”

“How is that my fault?! You sent her first!”

“You said 9400 days was short.” Hilda defends herself.

  “It is!”

  “Not!”

“You made your sister wait for 5 years yet you can't wait a simple 3.”

“Small details.” Hilda glances away, ignoring Shila.

  “You just won't accept it!”

Shila runs in the direction Jamine did, to the corner.
