Hey Diary,
We made it to Eightport! It’s a nice port city, with lots of fish-themed architecture. Having come from the town of Fish, I instinctively approve of buildings with lots of fishy details.
Apparently Echo got a message from the Goddess that from here we need to head down the coast to a town named Innsnose and stay there until the whole Ground Bad thing passes. That’s the town where the worst of the tsunamis will hit, according to Luke. So yeah, we’ll be beach cats for a while.
To get there, we need to go inland a bit. The people at the Guild here say that between here and Innsnose are big, windswept cliffs with nothing on top of them but meadows. It might be ok grazing for cows, but there are lots of better places for cows, and it’s super cold in winter, so yeah, no one lives there and there aren’t really roads.
The other way to get there is by boat, but Maeve gets super seasick, so that’s not really an option for us.
We’ve decided to stay here three days. It’ll only take four days max to get to Innsnose, so we’ve got time. Echo has something to do about her class, and the rest of us have a meeting with the king tomorrow about what all is going to happen. Since we’ll be in this king’s realm when the big earthquakes hit, Maeve said it would be polite if we had permission from him to help. Yeah, we’ve got permission from Goddess Bonnie to do things, but if we had pieces of paper that told people we can do whatever we want, life will be easier afterwards.
If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
At least, according to Maeve. And Maki agrees. So Maeve and Luke are in the Guild’s library taking notes on ocean current maps or something, in order to have a full file of numbers and paperwork to show the king. Or whoever the king says we need to show it to.
I think all that’s kinda boring and unnecessary compared to Maeve’s glowing gold hair and my Charm level, but I’m not the person who went to a university to learn how to do Maths for a living. What do I know.
After the meeting, Luke has a bunch of rune carving to do, and I have a bunch of animals to calm down. This guild has a whole pile of requests from farmers about their animals being scared of earthquakes, and I took them all. I could do them from my room here at the guild, but then I wouldn’t get paid. So Maki and I are gonna go out on my flying carpet and visit all the farms.
I don’t know what Maeve and Echo are going to do. I think Maeve said something about learning to surf better. But if everyone else is working, they might find some way of making money, too.
So yeah, it’s gonna be a busy day tomorrow.
Signing off,
