This hopeless situation had been viewed from up above by news helicopters soaring in the sky. There had been no other incident, with the exception of Jack Knight’s attack on England, that could rival the virality of the attempted assassination of President Ada.
Social media had quickly become complete pandemonium, but one man had a far different reaction.
“Looks like Lilith had got over that weird fear of hers,” Casually sitting on top of a building and spectating the war torn environment, the developer remarked as he rubbed his chin. “Though it seems like it still isn’t easy for her.”
“That was holding her back, I’ll admit. She mustn’t be afraid to do certain things,” The NPC said as he sat beside the developer. “Especially with something as extreme as this. Survival and fear can’t coexist.”
“Hmm, you don’t sound like you have a lot of faith,” The developer replied as he turned his attention to the NPC. “Is it because of how overwhelming their numbers are?”
“I am aware you’re trying to make them stronger by putting them in dire situations, but this seems rather counterproductive. None of them are enlightened…it’s impossible for them to go up against the country’s might,” The NPC remarked. “Even though I said survival and fear cannot coexist, the odds are far too stacked for them.”
“Well, you’re right. It’s going to be pretty tough for them. There’s not much we can do about it though,” The developer replied. “Who knows, maybe they can break their dark fate some way.”
“...Okay.”

“This damn bitch!” Witnessing the death of their comrade at the hands of Lilith, the super soldiers reacted with extreme anger. Filled with rage, the squad of superhumans sprinted towards her.
Stay calm…stay calm! Lilith encouraged herself as she gripped her katana with both hands, her trembling had completely ceased.
She matched their energy and darted towards them. Without stopping her stride, Lilith had swung her sword several times. The soldiers watched in surprise as they weaved her slashes, but Lilith kept her stride.
“Huh? Where is she going?” One of the super soldiers questioned. “She’s just running–”
SPURT!
The soldier never had the chance to finish his sentence, as lines of red liquid erupted from the bodies of him and his allies.
“W-What in the world?” The widened eyes of the super soldiers was all they could express before falling to their knees. They gazed at each other with stunned looks. “D-Didn’t we dodge?”
Before they even realized, Lilith had already traversed tens of meters – she kept her gaze forwards, at the soldiers littered around before her.
It doesn’t seem like these soldiers are too powerful, so I shouldn’t waste time dealing with them. Lilith pondered as she delivered slash wounds to super soldier after super soldier, with them might as well be sitting ducks due to their perception lagging behind. I may have trained my stamina and endurance, but it’s impossible to defeat all of them.
As she ran, she had turned her gaze to the disaster sight that was the Whitehouse – the scenery being nothing more than a small smoldering dot.
The best way would be to sneak in and kill her. With a resolved expression, Lilith planned. It may not change much but if I kill her, these sheeple may finally stop worshipping her.
Refocusing on what was ahead of her, Lilith witnessed more super soldiers running towards her. They had equipped themselves with combat knives, each having either curved and straight bladed instruments.

She had darted towards a parked military van, before launching it towards the group of super soldiers with a kick. This never proved much as the super soldiers moved to the side, rather than keeping their forward movement.
Surprise crept over the super soldiers, as Lilith was nowhere to be seen after they moved out of the way of the large vehicular projectile. They never saw her running towards them, but rather witnessed Lilith leaping off the vehicle towards them.
They raised their knives but that proved futile, as Lilith still descended and delivered bloody lines on their body and slicing right through their bladed instruments.
I have to keep moving, so I can’t get tracked by the regular soldiers. Lilith decided as she continued her pace. It’s best for me to keep the number of enemies I have to face to a minimum.
BOOM!
A large eruption of dust and debris flashed in the peripheral vision of Lilith’s right eye, choking the air in the horizon with a wall of drifting smoke and shockwaves.
It seems that Charles is having fun over there. Lilith pondered. This wouldn’t even be possible without him. He’s a big help.

While Lilith had efficiently dispatched her enemies, Charles had danced around with his enemy.
Spike after spike, Charlotte morphed the environment into her weapon and beamed them towards her opponent. Charles flexed his massively superhuman physicalities as he ran through, filling the air with rock fragments after obliterating the structures with punches.
“Haha, more!” Charles goaded as Charlotte created more spikes. He leaped and surfed on the spike, and blew apart the rest with heavy air gusts roused by his punches.
Out of the smoke which was formed, Charles had closed in on Charlotte. Though he had full intention of attacking her, his stride was suddenly cut.
“Huh?” Charles remarked as he turned his gaze downwards, to his leg which was seemingly being swallowed by the ground. The softened ground had behaved akin to quick sand. “Wow, that’s goo–”
WHAM!
With the body of another spike slamming into Charles’s side, he was blasted through several buildings away. Charlotte never let up as after he had crashed into the last building, she summoned ground spikes which ascended high, before converging and descending on the building.
BOOM!
With the speed and force of the impact of the spikes striking the infrastructure, the building had erupted into debris and smoke. Charlotte kept her eyes on the spike filled ruin, refusing to lower her guard against such a threat.
The few moments of silence were shattered by the sudden explosion and splintering of the spikes. Walking out of the area with nothing more than small cuts on his body, Charles approached Charlotte.
“Great. You’re doing great,” Charles remarked. “I never expected this much to be honest.”
“...What?”
“Normally, I’d be able to overpower just about anyone with the current strength I am using,” Charles explained. “But I can’t do that with you. You’ve been fending me off quite well.”
“Huh? Are you starting to realize how screwed you are? Oh well, that sucks for you. This is your fault for attacking the madam,” Charlotte replied. “I haven’t met anyone who could last this long against me. You would have been a great asset if you had pledged your loyalty to–”
“Hah! Quit yapping about useless nonsense! All you just need to do is keep attacking me!” With a giant grin, Charles remarked, much to Charlotte’s surprise. “You have more up your sleeve, right? So do I. I’m going to take this seriously now.”
“...How dare you.”
“Hah…Stacking.”

Amid all the chaos and explosions that took place from the fighting, Ada was kept out of harm's way. She had the company of Leon, Frank and Nolan as they stayed by her side. After strolling in the ruined area, they were greeted by the presence of multiple soldiers.
“Madam president. We have come to aid in your evacuation,” With the squad approaching her with urgency, one of the soldiers commented. “I’m glad you are okay–”
“Tsk, you all must have lost your damn minds,” Interjecting the soldier, Frank berated. “I can’t believe you honestly think we are going to trust a bunch of normies to protect the madam.”
“Uhm, well–”
“Fufu, thank you for your care, but I’ll be fine with my guards. No need to worry,” With a soft, sincere tone, Ada remarked. “There’s so many civilians that are susceptible to any collateral damage. You’re the only ones who can help…we can’t let this be another Jack incident.”
“Y-Yes, ma’am!” Replying in unison, the soldiers responded. Motivated by the president’s words, the soldiers had rolled out.
“Sigh…what a bunch of morons,” Frank remarked as he watched them leave. “Who the hell do they even think they are?”
“All they are is a bunch of people that can die to a flick,” Leon chimed in. “That’s all they’ll ever be.”
“Fufu, they have their uses. Since there are so many of them, they’re very expendable,” Ada remarked. “We’ve around one million of them. Even if you don’t account for the over one thousand super soldiers, one million soldiers would be a pain for almost anyone.”
“Heh, I get it,” Frank remarked.
“Yeah…this is why you can’t overestimate your self,” Ada remarked. “Everyone has their uses for me.”
