The city of Neop had been built centuries ago, and many runes carved into every stone and pillar.
The Larv were quite proud of their ancestral lands, and as many among them enjoyed their lives, one of them was lying in the bed, dying from a skin related pain he could not quite place.
A message appeared, a feeling of dread following as he stared into what seemed to be a bastardized system message. They said he would awaken today, his last day maybe offering him a chance to survive if he put every statpoint into willpower.
"Who are you?" He asked, curious as to the messages origin.
"I assume you can't just come and shed my skin, right? Unless you have someone who knows something about that disease of mine? Because the only thing I want is to leave this place and live the life we are supposed to live."
"Then we got a deal."
As those words were uttered, Thimon lashed out, spectral tentacles shooting into his newest hosts' soul. Immediately, he shed his skin. The fragile structure burst apart as he used the spreading cloud to escape outwards, his blue skin different from the green his host had earlier.
"What was that, system?"
He asked, his confusion palpable.
"I almost had to make a new character. Why did you do that?"
"I guess... well, let's see how I look."
He said, smiling as he glanced at his hands and swam towards a shining metal surface, where he was not reflected.
"A part of the whole shadowless thing, huh? Making me harder to spot and stuff?"
Joelas sighed, glancing at the other Larv that swam by him, heading for different places of the bustling city.
"I guess it's time for some reconnaissance and plotting. The first goal will be the surface."
And thus, he headed upward, the skin allowing fast and graceful movements as he continued to ascend, slowly vibrating his frills to hum a sweet melody, all eyes focussing on his song, even the guards letting their attention shift to focus it on the weirdly slim creature whos body seemed to melt with the water around him, doing so even more than their mucus normally did.
Once he reached air, the sunlight burned away the mucus on his head in seconds, a black snow exploding outwards and slowly dropping into the water below, stabilizing as black, rotten smelling orbs of slime at the surface, blackening the sky within the minute as it spread ever further, the orbs melting into one another and releasing ever more particles that continued to grow as soon as they touched water, until it formed a perfect seal, it's gelatinous structure making it a perfect seal.
When Joelas touched this substance, he felt himself be drawn inside, the slime waiting for a command of his as his every perk and handycap influenced this moment.
He began to panic. This would draw attention easily. He needed to do something about his image that somehow made it less bad than obstructing the sun with a gigantic black slime.
A smile crept on his face, frills flexing to simulate one as his skin began to peel from his every bodypart.
This time, his shell was drawn deeper into the black substance, his new skin coloured in black with red markings on it as he returned below, his body vibrating as he announced his plans.
"I am Jeolas, spawn of the Elderslime and Herald of darkness. I have come to tell you that the world on the outside needs you and that I will prepare our kin to ascend. Until that day, the seal of void will be kept in place, and nothing can lift it until we are ready to face the heretics out there!"
Some cheered at that, and most were confused. As for Jeolas himself? This deed was only to create an agenda and a character that the people could see, asserting himself as a dark lord type character that would help them overcome some sort of Imaginery weakness. Something he still had to think about, now that he used it to explain his biggest fuck up to date.
"What does my status say to this?"
"I guess I look like humans would have seen Aliens..."
He muttered to himself, his unnatural colouring, slim frame and burning red eyes a stark contrast to the species normally black beads and blue-greenish skin.
Then, he dove down and escaped the staring masses into a nearby alley, hoping to think about what he had just done.
It was only when he noticed guards following him that he utilized a skill he hadn't used for quite a while. Now utilizing water instead of wind, he dashed away from them, barely escaping their questions and giving him time to search on how to behave in his newest victims memories.
